  1. Entered! Want that bag!
  2. Option 3 for me. MS best practice I believe. Just out of curiosity, did MS guidance on this change at some point? I seem to remember, years ago, it being good practice to point the secondary dns at another dns server?
  3. Nope, A1 Plus is nothing to do with reseller.
  4. Oh yes, connect to your tennant in PS and run "Set-MsolCompanySettings -AllowEmailVerifiedUsers $true" Nooooooooooo! Its doesn't work like that. Morons!
  5. You need to tell them that you are an academic institution with and OVS-ES agreement for Office. Their own documentation states that schools with an OVS-ES for Office are entitled to receive Office 365 A1 Plus licences From: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/office-365-education-self-sign-up-technical-faq-7fb1b2f9-94c2-4cbb-b01e-a6eca34261d6?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US MS Technet article on this that states the same thing (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt844095.aspx) To receive the licences you need to be on the Academic Verification list (<- this is bit that we really struggled with as multiple people told us that we were on it but it took a resubmission to sort it) When they appear they are unlimited
  6. I had to get the support call escalated a few times to get the A1 Plus licences added. The drones on first line have no clue about it. When you land with someone who does it is resolved pretty quickly though. Unfortunately it took months to get to the right person.
  7. Really enjoying this. mrs_sparkeh and I are enjoying speculating about what is happening. Also the music is good.
  8. I did it!! And it was ok, funnily enough I found it easier just to run the 20 mins without stopping than the previous run with 2 walks in it. Thanks!
  9. Ok its run day. Week 5 day 3 and suddenly I'm supposed to run for 20 mins straight! The last run was 8 mins run, 5 mins walk, 8 mins run and it about killed me so I'm bricking it today. Anyone else find this a bit of a leap and how did it go?
  10. “For the past 12 years, Edugeek has been invaluable resource for solving tech problems. Edugeek has a unique mix of knowledgeable IT experts ready to give their time to help others, a warm and inclusive community and just plain silliness. From my own experience, the wealth of knowledge from real world experiences of deploying and managing Windows 10, that you just can find anywhere else, has made our migration a success.” —Mark, Primary Network Manager .
  11. Sorry missed this. Yes, Leicestershire, using 365.
  12. As I read it, the ping reply stops when the machine is unplugged, indicating that it is not pinging a different machine.
  13. That’s the thing, adding win 10 to a domain designed around win 7/8 isn’t going to work. You need to treat it like a completely new OS, read the documentation, find out what is/isn’t support and design gpo that fit.
  14. I like it a lot. It takes a bit of a shift in mindset to manage but it works very nicely.
  15. I guess that you could use Scheduled Tasks to run a Powershell script at a certain time that applies a GPO.
  16. Exactly! That's why I don't think that is your issue. Although I now can't add anything more useful on what it could be :/
  17. Thinking about it, I am not sure that the SSU/LCU issue really explains the problem here. Whilst MS recommend you install the latest SSU before installing the LCU, if it is an actual *requirement* then, I believe, the SSU is set as a requirement for the LCU. If you are deploying security updates then SCCM should pick up the latest SSU and deploy the SSU and LCU in the right order. There is still a bit on an issue here as the SSU does not require a reboot so the you have to wait until the device rescans to pick up the LCU: If you try to deploy an LCU without the required SSU then you will see errors in the deployment logs. However, @FN-GM didn't see anything in the logs.
  18. Here's a list of latest SSUs: https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-us/security-guidance/advisory/ADV990001
  19. Just got round to watching it. Loved it, and love JW as The Doctor. I for one got bored of the overarching, mind bending, overly complicated, too clever for its own good plots that have plagued Who of late and glad we are back to some good old entertaining, silly, monster fighting. Long may it continue.
  20. Don't wish to derail this but that post doesn't appear for me, its a post in another thread for me - just weirded out Mmm, but when we had it only Windows updates complained about the window, everything else was fine, it was a bug IIRC (we don't even use maintenance windows!!)
  21. ?? Where did that quote of mine come from, its not from this thread. How odd. My next step would be to run an update cycle on the machine and have a look at the update logs: UpdatesDeployment.log, UpdatesHandler.log & WUAHandler.log would be good. I have recently had some issues with machines thinking that there are no service windows available to install updates which pop up in one of those logs.
  22. If you look at the properties of a machine missing the updates and check the deployments, do the updates appear (ie are the machines definitely expecting to get these updates).
  23. Comet. I mean comment!
  24. Took my first couch to 5k run today. Loved it. Got Micheal Johnson coaching me and the app is great. Looking forward to my next run (well run, Walk, run, Walk etc [emoji3])
