I love the classic turkey dinner with all the trimmings so exactly that!My favourite part is on boxing day when I chop up all the cold leftovers (meat and veg!), fry them up in a pan together and cover in gravy - best meal of the year for me!

I think there is still a need for IT Suites but mixed with a mobile solution. It offers the best of both worlds. Some teachers will prefer the ease of walking into a suite knowing all the computers are on and ready, some will prefer to have mobile devices in a free form layout in the classroom.We have 11 suites, and it will not increase but we are planning some mobile solutions (tablet/notebook/chromebook trolleys)

I've noticed this on my work PC recently - Chrome just becomes incredibly laggy - scrolling pauses and page rendering grinds to a halt.Doesn't happen on IE or Firefox and I'm yet to find a fix I'm afraid. It only started about 4 weeks ago so I suspect an update (either chrome or W10) is to blame.

Big corporation cocks up - customers suffer. Not exactly headlines these days, just becoming the norm! I had very poor customer service from O2 a few years ago but I'm in no doubt they're better/worse than any of the other big telcos.

To be fair we have a lot of those here too - we just call them traffic wardens, MPs, TV licensing and the DVLA.....

With more redundancies/restructuring here I've never wanted to emigrate more, although I think Aussie would be my preference!

Yes batteries are nearly new and reset a few times.However we have now managed to fix it - for some reason the two paxlocks were 'attached' to an airbridge on the other side of the building, so they really couldn't be connected there. We deleted both paxlocks and resynched them, and they now both connect to the airbridge nearest to them!I'm not sure why they linked to the distant airbridge, its way too far away for them to connect to - and they were never attached to it originally. Odd

We've got a couple of paxlocks (both on the same airbridge) that aren't updating or logging events.We've restarted the airbridge several times and re-synched both locks - and they both log 'Control Unit Reset' and 'Initialised' but then fail to log any access events, or update any new fob details.The last time this happened to a similar lock they were under warranty so were replaced, but it seems odd that they can connect, even update firmware but then fail to communicate in any other way? Net2 shows them both as online and up to date as well

Our 2016 servers are up to date, and only 1 of the 2012's is stuck on update (but it is the Sept one) I think I'll demote the dodgy 2012 server and see if it helps

Ok this is starting to panic me now - changing the security filtering on a policy shows that the ACLs replication isn't working at all - it replicated from a 2012 to a 2016, and a 2016 to a 2016, but most of the replication is stuck with the ACLs warning I've checked all the diagnostics and no errors, I've run the DFS Management diagnostics and it all comes up clean - but checking the GPO folders on each DC shows permissions are not being changed, even after waiting an hour So if replication is working (apparently) but ACLs aren't replicating, am I screwed and looking at restoring/rebuilding the domain and/or GPOs?

Ahh now oddly its started working - but it doesn't apply when you rdp into a PC, so that was causing some confusion as well

Does this work OK for you? I've set this up and it doesn't seem to apply to the display settings even though I can see the registry entries being changed by the GPP (i.e Win8DPIScaling=1 and LogPixels=120)

Bit worried about this one now, on GPMC I noticed that from the baseline controller it show all the other DCs are Replicating with ACLs errors in the Sysvol columnThis is a mixture of 2012 and 2016 DCs, in a 2012 forest level domain. Running repadmin on each DC shows no errors, and no fails. DCDiag on each shows DFRS errors - but only relating to me restarting the service on each DC to see if that helped. The thing is, I've checked a newly created GPO and its replicated, with the correct permissions across all of the DCs. Each DC in the list also seems to have a slightly different list of GPOs with mismatched ACLs but they're all ones I've edited in the last month or so. Does this mean I've got a bigger problem going on? I can't see any actual acl discrepancies which is a bit odd. Its not looking good - if I create a new GPO - it replicates but shows the ACL error for 4/5 of the other DCs - something is shafted on my DCs!

Importing the task, or creating it locally works fine, its only through GPP deployment it comes up with the error. In the end a good old batch file has worked - ironically still using the same task xml file

I've had more success using a batch file that runs 'schtasks /Create' using a prepared xml file. It seems to be the way with W10 these days that the GPP/GPO setings are often ignored.

I've been trying with GPP, but as my SCCM is being rebuilt from scratch I'm looking more towards a batch file - although I've never added a scheduled task that way before!Edit: Does Windows 10 preference logging even work? I've enabled logging for the the Task GPP - but no log files appear. Just the same useless message about 'cannot find the file specified'

It’s 1703 mainly and the task is set to run as system. I can create the task manually on the same pcs and it works as expected, just not via a gpp which means deploying it will be a pain!

That's the problem, the task has no files - it simply display a message when an event occurs, there's no external files involved in the task at all, no pathnames at all. The trigger is and event and the action is a message.

More W10 weirdness today - trying to deploy a scheduled task to PCs using GPP - it doesn't work and logs the error "The system cannot find the file specified" in the local machine log.That error doesn't change no matter what the task is set to do, run a program, show a message or have no Action at all - so its not the task itself causing the problem. When I login to one of the PCs I can see the Task Scheduler is running and has other basic tasks (added in by the AV) so I know its functioning, but I have no idea what file it cannot find!
