  1. But the beacons had been lit, and Theoden knew where he was needed, and knew he needed to be there ASAP. And could have had scouts reporting... Not just setting sail to get rid of an elf, with hundreds of horses in small boats etc. Of which there is a cartoon doing the rounds.
  2. When you write "ice cream" - I assume you mean "emulsified pigs' feet and high fructose corn syrup with flavourings"?
  3. Not watched this week's yet; reasonably happy with it over all. However - last week's arrival of the good guys, just at the time the bad guys were likely to win, was more than a little "deus ex machina". Hope that's not too much of a spoiler.
  4. Good luck... My experience (not in the IT field) matches Oaktech here.
  5. Makes me really glad we fixed ours in June for 6 years - the end of the term. I really do feel for the rest of you.
  6. The twonk had 4 letters in line 5 and one in line 6? What's the matter with him? AND - doesn't he know what Trumpolini was trying to do on Jan 6th?
  7. What is this "shaving" of which you speak? Think of the savings in money and time you could accrue by being a real man and growing a beard!
  8. Only one way that might happen... RIBBIT.
  9. On the retention period part of the question; lifted from our policy doc. Safeguarding/Child Protection Files on individual pupil referred (paper and electronic in iSAMS and CPOMS, with historical records from SIMs copied across) Kept until a pupil leaves. Paper documents then scanned and only an electronic record retained in CPOMS/iSAMS–so DoB +25 years
  10. Small claims court / solicitors letter?
  11. Or, quite possibly, both.
  12. Shoei Qwest - pretty old now, and the whistle from the wind is unpleasent.
  13. You don't suppose that the super-spreader event last Monday is going to have an effect?
  14. You missed bumper payouts to shareholders, and enormous bonuses for CEO etc.
  15. I read (somewhere) that the cost of the domestic bung to the energy sector would have built enough wind turbines to power the entire country. Don't know how accurate that is...
  16. Govt announce more propping up of energy companies profits. BBC link
  17. A brown one... I'll look! On microwaves - someone (I've not checked yet) stated that the clock costs £16 / year. Ours now gets turned off at the wall.
  18. Ninja - not the all singing foodie. Much quieter than the ice-cream maker.
  19. We too got one; during lockdown. Oven seldom on at all now.
  20. We've got one of these hanging high in the stairwell. You do HAVE to be aware of condensation risks, especially in a modern sealed house. I fitted a PIV unit above it, and we've had no problems at all. (WOW! Prices have shot up, unless that's not the one I fitted!!) ETA - cheaper on Amazon.
  21. I wonder if there's anything in - Older types (me) learned to use IT as a tool in mid-later life. Kids learned it as a toy/game and think they know it all from that.
  22. Doorstop - AKA - "Deformed Rabbit"
  23. I've had wildlife on my decking project too. Didn't start when it was outrageously hot... Now gopping down! https://photos.app.goo.gl/BD8vrbjmPGSV8pAX6
