  1. Having watched a Saturn 1b launch from within Canaveral, I can well imagine the sound. The closest thing I've heard since is a Vulcan taking off at Farnborough; but that was A LOT closer! Your chest vibrates, and the ground does shake. Sorry about the quality - my father let the slides gather dust, and fade rather badly.
  2. Errr... This sign needed ONE apostrophe. Guess which one they missed?
  3. [h=3]Ruin a filE name by changing one letter [/h] I misread the thread name...
  4. Vallient - https://myboiler.com/opentherm/vaillant-opentherm/ I'm not sure whether you can "legally" fiddle with the controls either.
  5. Yep; mine. Can't remember what it is though. I'll look. The Dutch have a thriving DIY scene apparently, and you can order replacement circuit boards from there. CORGI might get upset though.
  6. In an ideal world (yeah right) you would modulate the flow temperature dependent on the difference between your current temperature and the set point. Some modern boilers can do this out of the box, some have options, and there's a "grey market" for parts for others that can, but the mfrs don't "allow".
  7. I think this is good news. Just found an Amazon box on the desk - 5 glass coffee presses. No delivery note, address label ripped off. No clues!
  8. Not free - but if you have to keep replacing remotes and the lost teaching factor... https://cpc.farnell.com/vision-av/
  9. I saw an article some days ago that said that most of the problem* wasn't bird-flu; it was the B word that must not be spoken. * Maybe free-range is impacted - can't quite remember.
  10. How long before you're told you need to buy a Plaid Tesla? That Fiat is only "sort of" an estate car, so I'll stick a Honda Civic* in the mix. 60k on the clock, 64 plate, a bit more than your £5k, but nearly 70mpg on long runs. £0 tax. *I don't know about the estate version - not seen many about, but the normal shaped one is flexible.
  11. LOOK OUT!! It's one of those really enlightened galactic cops that doesn't want to shoot us! Sorry Miss...
  12. I'm re-reading that at the moment... DON'T PANIC
  13. No tickets left locally... (I have seen them a few times though)
  14. If you can change connectors - https://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/mp33750/microphone-lavalier-beige/dp/MP33750?ost=mp33750 https://cpc.farnell.com/stageline/ecm-501l-sk/microphone-mini-xlr/dp/MP33611?ost=mp33611 https://cpc.farnell.com/jts/cm-201if/microphone-omni-lavalier-beige/dp/MP33730
  15. No - they are people who set fire to pensioners.
  16. I wonder what he'd pay a bag-packer? And how many hours a day?
  17. There were security questions with Owls. Might have been fixed; I've not been following it. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/security/228029-owl-videoconferencing-cameras-security-vulnerability.html
  18. The other day I played "SPELD" and was rather surprised that it was accepted....
  19. Are they going to put their hands in their pockets to make it happen?
  20. Try again - they may change it to "Trumpolini".
  21. They count as "trade waste" even if from a school. Whilst the dump might take them, they equally might not. Don't just deposit them in the general battery box, they need to be sorted. Ask your site team, chemistry department, or senior management about their protocols for hazardous waste. Someone must have something in place...
  22. For anyone thinking of changing their arrangements - I would strongly suggest talking to an INDEPENDENT advisor. Normally paid by the lender, but even if you pay up front, they should more than save you their fee. You might also get advice on other financial issues if you choose the right one.
