Groo... GWS!

A bggrs muddle here. School spread over 1/4 of the city. Different plans for different buildings, and a night/wet weather plan too. Not really an option for a "one size fits all" plan, so it may be the best option. We use paper on a clipboard in science. We try to keep the set lists and timetables up-to-date. It is however impossible to be 100% accurate.

I know nowt about the mechanics - You won't necessarily capture every entry unless your staff arrive one by one. That is, unless they WANT to be registered as attending.

We've had the electronics in our lectern replaced, and the control is now on an iPad (not my choice) and we are having intermittent connection issues. One thing I'd like to clear up, what does this symbol mean? Occasionally found flashing away in the very corner of the screen. I can't see it in any list Apple produce. Of course, it won't do it now to actually photograph...

Nope. Just pull the handle with a key in range. No warning clicks, clunks, or flashes. Can be set to alarm the car if you just walk away, but not lock it. This is NOT a good idea. (4am, collecting sorta-dorta's friends for an airport run. They got to the car before me. I worked out how to disable it soon after)

Certain works (ie in a garage, outside) almost certainly fall into the Part P racket. That said, it looks like you are heading the right way, but DO run, and connect earth to all locations. You don't know when you might change the fitting to a metal one, all the earths can be commoned where you write "Mains". 2.5 is overkill for lighting, and sort your extensions out!

I very much doubt that any 'general purpose' surge protector is going to do anything about a local lightning strike. No good protecting the mains wires if your phone line comes in on copper etc. A rod might be useful - istr that you need to imagine a 50m diameter ball rolling around. Where it touches the ground or buildings, those are at risk.

Not sure if it is officially advised, but when I broke one, strapping it helped. Ordinary crepe slightly elastic bandage. Took a while, but seemed to stop needing to all of a sudden.
