Other countries can manage public transport. Possibly because they are investing the profits they make from running ours, in their own country.

I read somewhere... Smart motorways are safer, overall. There are fewer accidents - overall. Fewer KSI - overall. The risk to a moving car is reduced - overall. Traffic speed can be managed to keep traffic flowing during heavy periods.* However, the lack of a hard shoulder increases risk for the broken down driver (and the driver on the phone about to hit the broken down car). It really is like the classic "trolley car" problem. Do we keep the majority safer, but increase the risk for the minority? * Nope - not my direct experience either. Once the traffic builds up, the hard shoulder gets shut as a running lane.

Shame we've decided to ignore these :- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. And even then; these were not robot proof!

We've got something odd flying around us... Don't think it is a buzzard, or kite. Both of which we do get. Big enough, but with swept back, curved wings. Wings a bit gull like, but wrong shape body and colour. Never got a camera to hand when it is about.

Flying boats, whilst a niche market, are alive and well in areas without runways, but plenty of rivers/lakes.

"Adaptive" cruise control - try driving a car you don't know has it. Very confusing when someone pulls into your "thinking/breaking" gap, and your car slows down.

I have read that the camera's on "smart" motorways are set a LOT closer to posted speed than plod at the side of the road. I'd be wary...

If the "temporary" signs are red circle type, as a normal speed limit, I'd not trust anyone saying you can ignore them. Second point - idiots.

In the days of yor, I had a CZ motorcycle. The ignition switch that basically needed a round rod shoved into it. A hairgrip worked fine too. I fitted a switch under the seat.

I haven't needed it, so why waste precious time looking for it? Cross that bridge when I get there etc.

I think what you are aiming for is a "Distribution Amplifier". I wouldn't necessarily need to "amplify" in your case, but the ability might help balance the respective sensitivities of your amps/speakers.

It is indeed due to the risk of a potential developing between "Ground" in the two locations. It is an unlikely, but highly dangerous situation. Please take advice on this.
