Some of my colleagues suffered from problems with overheating - causing similar symptoms. Not sure which version of Surface it was affecting.

I think this will also depend on the printer software. I've struggled with it in the past, given up, print it out double-sided, then booklet on the copier. Uniprint on Canon MFDs.

Heating control here is a nightmare. REALLY old science building (oldest bit 1908) that has had chunks added, joined, extended... The zones correspond to when built, not the geography of the building, or use. Thus, in my workshop, next to the brazing hearth, I've got the sensor for two dark north-facing labs, and one south-facing corner lab. Someone is always too cold, and someone too hot, (I'm fine as I set the temps)

11:45 - "Arty" cinema on the dockside in Southampton. Actually quite a nice place - carpets aren't sticky, bar & café quite sensible, limited FREE parking.

Perfect - PIN is under users.

I'm by no means expert, and I've only just started poking Paxton at all. When being trained, I spotted that our security types had programmed "vxyz" as both a PIN and a code. Thus when they turned "codes" off for the hols, the doors were still openable. We now can't see the page for programming PINs at all.. VXYZ is now just a PIN, not a code, and it still opens doors as expected with "Reader operating mode" set to Token, PIN or code.

Tesla do some nice ones... (Right - that's one fewer Daleks to worry about...)

You can't add something to a recording that isn't there. You might be able to reduce unwanted frequencies, leaving the parts you do want cleaner. Audacity is free; Adobe Audition is v powerful, but not free.

What dmj says about when you leave, plus a commercial system is likely to be orders of magnitude more complex than a domestic system, unless you are in a very small school. Our controls are kind of clunky, but covers many boiler rooms, each with many zones.

If you go for screens, you will be wheeling them out for every assembly/parents' eve/whatever. A projector should be "turnkey" - even for PE teachers.
