  1. Morning all Need some pretty quick help if possible, we use sQuid for online payments and the account numbers need to be sent to parents. I can get all of the information from the biostore database but Excel is absolutely mangling it As an example: And then when I drag the column out it stays the same, if I turn it to be number it then rounds the figure up which is useless! eg, ****991053600277 becomes ****991053600270 Help!! How the hell do I stop this happening?
  2. Is the Smoothwall the primary router for your LAN, are you vlan'd out or flat network? What is handling your DHCP, Smoothwall or server? Are you getting timeouts or unreachables if you ping, is DHCP working properly and can you look up internal DNS addresses? If you can't reach the Smoothwall internal IP and you've not changed anything I would suspect something potentially hardware level has gone wrong with it. Do you have config backups?
  3. WMI is working a treat, added the latest ADMX files to the central store and have made it all work! Got a room for testing now
  4. Personally mate I find it easier capturing in MDT and then using images in SCCM - much less headache Obviously only of use to you if you have MDT set up too
  5. I found that I was getting crash messages at logon relating to this service, on my test machine - so I nuked the service with GPO and no problems since!
  6. EXCELLENT! Full steam ahead Cheers all
  7. Nice one mate does the WMI filtering show any serious slowdowns in logon times or is it OK?
  8. Morning all Question - is anybody running W10 on a set of computers, and W8 on another set (or the rest of the school?) I've got a room I'd like to image with W10... I can set some WMI filters on GPO's so only the relevant GPO's apply where a user logs in but seems messy to me. Just wondering if anybody else is doing this, and if so, how? Cheers ^_^
  9. Oh my This is stuff of nightmares, and for it to happen to a person who is a member of this community makes it even more of a shock - a stark reminder that this kind of thing can happen. Thankfully I have two separate buildings to replicate backups between, and have a little NAS at home that is kept up to date with critical data. Horrible to see those images of the place burning to the ground I can't offer much, but we have a huge (3 empty 42U racks) amount of rack space spare protected by fire supression with the whole room protected by UPS so if you need somewhere to rack things up let me know.
  10. What are you intending to display? A really ghetto thing to do if it is just simple information, create the content in Openoffice or whatever, and save it to a location accessible by the Pi then have a script that runs on the Pi (by SSH) to close/re-open Openoffice with the file full screen therefore updating if there are changes made? Proper bodgey and not entirely sure how possible it is hah
  11. Can't you wake all of the machines up and then log them off?
  12. Wow, that is really useful. I am building a W10 image at the moment. I may pull the trigger... or I may just leave it for remote desktop We'll see
  13. That per core licensing model scares me slightly...
  14. Quality share mate. Didn't even know this existed
  15. Could hear the storm that was over London from my corner of the woods (near Uxbridge) and it did sound quite lively. Had a couple of almighty booms as well and a shed load of rain Should be in for some more today too!
  16. How are you deploying the printers?
  17. You'll probably find the best way to do this is make sure it sticks within a specific network or with a specific IP address. You will then need to add this IP or network to a network group called whatever it is you would find suitable and then add this range to a definition that sets the block list, within CFS.
  18. I vote the OptiPlex, used them in one form or another for 10 years now and very rarely have found them to have problems.
  19. Just test data so far mate, and no sync's with anything
  20. I'm going to try and push it, at the moment a teacher is running Google Classroom (with my blessing - at the time, nothing better and no time to do anything different) however I am not keen on two separate services and want to keep everything in one hat. We're small so I think it could work for us at the moment. This does look good!
  21. It's looking quite good at the moment. Wondering if you can set classes up based on AD groups though, seems not for now. And probably not until they have their integration with MIS going
  22. Morning all Any other O365 schools managed to get on the Classroom Preview? Mucking around with it here at the moment
  23. This is odd, we certainly mapped AD groups to Pcounter client codes. I'm afraid the method escapes me now as it's a while back... I'm sure somebody else will be able to help
  24. Oooh it's been a while but it certainly is doable because we did it in our last place. It's part of another section within the management window, if you have active support I'd give them a shout tbh.
  25. Anybody on 5325 and aware of a TXT record that needs to be added for auto discovery on OS X clients? I can see the clients querying a TXT record but I don't know what it's after as a response (and IP doesn't seem to be enough)
