Mornin all Anybody else here a customer of Hills Components? I've just gone to get something from them and it looks like they've gone under! Google lists them as permanently closed and their website is down. Not heard a thing though and they were tweeting in August?! Just wondering if anybody would have a clue about what happened. I hope they haven't... really good supplier, so helpful and always good prices etc for the odds and sods you need as well

I use SnipeIT and have it running on site, it's not a lot of hassle to set up and it works really well. Not got any experience, or even any knowledge of, AssetTiger so can't comment there but give Snipe a whirl if you're comfortable with a bit of command line!

Don't skip doing building control - as mentioned previously if you ever come to sell the house (or if somebody tries to sell it after you're gone) it will be a pain in the arse as it will come up when the solicitors start digging and it would have a good chance of falling through/or a full structural needing doing. No worries mate, you should be ok unless the proxy server is mangling stuff. Profile Manager uses push to send settings to them, the web interface is only for management, once they have enrolled - at least, this is how I have come to understand things

Are you installing the trust profile on the iPads when you configure them with AC2? You may find better success using enrolment profiles with AC2 to get them onto Profile Manager.

+1 for Intel sticks and Xibo here, moved away from Signagelive as I found it to be clunky, expensive, annoying. Xibo has been fine and is far more flexible!

We have an FM200 fire supression system in our server room, only because the previous owners of our building had a requirement for it. It's not been maintained for over 4 years, we've just got quotes to get it under maintenance, and due to the age of the cylinders (which would apply to most installations, I would presume, as they age) the initial cost is £4k as they need to be pressure tested. Annual routine maintenance thereafter is around £1.5k/annum including an integrity test. It's a good solution, but it could be really expensive to install and maintain.

If I have time I'll spin up a lab and find out. Last time I tried to deploy any of the RDS stuff as core servers though, it was a world of pain.

Make a case of consequence for not taking action and then let the powers that be make the decision from there and make sure there's a trail if you feel there's a sword to be fell on. But you are right the company is breaching f-gas regulations and can be taken to task for it. Your school could also be in trouble for allowing this to happen, and if you have systems on site with enough refrigerant there should be a log book detailing system volumes/leaks/recharges where applicable - this should detail the work that has taken place. Log sheets should also do the same. TBH if the powers that be decide to repair it (which should be possible depending on the fault) I would look to have another company come in to do the work that are accredited installers of the system manufacturer if possible - they then may be able to work better with the manufacturer to get a good result for you Good luck

How many beds/baths - if you've got one bathroom and one kitchen do a combi. If you have one bathroom and a shower and a kitchen I would lean more towards a cylinder. Anything upwards of that, most certainly go for a cylinder. Oil would be my suggestion, make sure you use somebody OFTEC registered however (not only from a safety p.o.v but from a selling your house p.o.v). You can get outdoor oil combis.

You'll need a HETAS registered tradesperson to install this, you'll need to bear in mind (I think I'm right here) a place for heat to be dumped when there's no demand for it (water hot/house hot) If you want it that's your choice but I'd still recommend you go down a combi for a small property or a good boiler + unvented cylinder for a larger property (please don't go installing 40kw+ combis it's ridiculous)

Hi all I foolishly thought that the installer would be for all users... NOPE! It installs to the local profile - hence my efforts deploying it with SCCM/in the task sequence have left me without the Teams desktop app. Has anybody found a workaround for this? I'm not going to deploy it using GPO it's just a ridiculous way to slow down logons. Cheers

+1 for ManageEngine. Very competent product and also what I needed with looking after more than one school.

Or open the group, go to members > add, open advanced, change locations to the OU in question then click find now and select everyone (click at the top then shift click at the bottom) then ok and done

Morning Hoping somebody else may be running a Server 2016 SH and have an idea here, just found one of ours running low on disk space and investigation has found the following directory absolutely running away (per user) C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\ConstraintIndex Basically it looks as if it is constantly (at least every minute) regenerating the app index/search terms and I've no idea why and it doesn't look like anybody else is having any similar problem out there. Has anybody got a 2016 SH and having any similar problems?!

I'll throw my hat in the ring with Sonicwall - it has matured a lot over the past few years the content filter works well and it is very good at the firewall/routing/everything else side of jobs. The management UI is also better than Smoothwall I now think, having had experience with Smoothwall a few years ago and encountering it again at a different school last month I am firmly in the Sonicwall camp for manageability, performance and feature set... and probably pricing too!
