Stick with cached, I used to run online but Outlook is very sensitive to any issues with internet connectivity or issues with the O365 servers and can hang/be ridiculous... I didn't want to use cached but I had to in the end.

Not sure if this is still an issue but at what point is the PXE boot failing, is SCCM saying no or is it not reaching SCCM? Check the smspxe.log in the site folder\logs or it may be located in %PROGRAMFILES%\SMS_CCM\Logs it may give you a clue as to why SCCM says no if it gets far enough. Also could be secure boot playing you up

Is this where they've just logged in or a constant issue? I manage the cached mode with GPO to only be a month so it doesn't pull too much data down on a new logon, and also to limit how much it pulls down if they log in after a period of inactivity. You may also find this with users who have excessively large mailboxes...

Mornin peeps Wondering if anybody here is using Xibo, and if so, have you managed to get it to stream audio (radio station)? We're using Windows clients. Everything else works great!

I'm going down the Xibo route, I'm coming to the end of a 3yr term on Signagelive and it's given me the hump a few times... and it's not cheap. So, I've used some of the left over capital to buy a bunch of Intel compute sticks and it works a treat!

Check your unattend file as well you should be able to set this as the machine images

Nice one @sparkeh For some reason I'm having a proper nightmare with logon times - easily reaching 2m30s on first time logon for a user with minimal GPO & no profile. Subsequent logon is OK but after a reboot you're easily back up to a minute and reboots are bloody slow as well. Not sure if using the candy crusher script has done this so I am trying a bog standard install to see what happens. All of your advice re. start menu is spot on though, it works a treat!

Morning all Quick one, if you are using BGInfo how are you getting it to work on W10? It runs at login and I can see the file being generated into %TEMP% but it does not apply. It's going to be a simple one I know... Any ideas?

@sparkeh no roaming profiles... fun. Are you using Outlook with Office 365 and if so how are you handling Outlook? This is my primary reason for roaming profile so that they configure once and forget, but if I can get around that I will bin roaming profiles as well.

What method are you using to do this? I'm sick of this sodding start menu. Ripping out the crap certainly does it. If I do it post-install, no problem. Do it from the wim, and the start menu just gets borked. Arrghhh Thinking of scrapping the whole idea!!

I'm having the opposite! I'm having a mare with it, I'm using Edu with the wim modified to remove all the crud. First log in, no installed apps (other than modern apps) are even listed in the menu let alone show as icons. Second log in, the xml applies and anything installed also shows up. Anybody seen this, and if so, how did you resolve it?! *tears hair out*

Morning all Wondering how people go about removing the built in crapps using a task sequence? I don't really want to go down the route of capturing images etc. I have found a few different scripts to de-crapp the install but these seem to depend on being run either as a user or while logged in (which the SCCM task sequences, are not) We're using SCCM CB so any help is well received Cheers

Hi @Fazza it worked... according to SCCM. But when logged in all of the stupid bumf is still there. If I run the script elevated when logged in, it then disappears. I'm guessing the script needs to run in a logged in environment to work? Though my TS isn't much different to yours.

I use Applocker to kill Edge off. Is there really any issue with them poking around the filesystem if no sensitive information is kept there/share security is right? It's obviously not ideal, but they shouldn't be able to do much even if they can look around the C drive (and the old Word hack still works regardless)

We're using SonicWALL here and it's maturing a lot but I would absolutely agree with Norphy, Smoothwall (used it in my last school) is an excellent filter but a little lacking in firewall/routing (in 2014) in comparison to the SonicWALL which is very well featured in terms of routing/firewalling but the filter is a little clunky. They are improving this though.

I'm guessing if you don't have SMBv1 enabled you're ok from this vuln?

FFS I just saw this in admin center and it's wound me up as we've been making a start with it as I didn't want to run GAFE alongside Office365 now it looks like we're doing it regardless! Teams doesn't hold a candle to GAFE.

Weird, I had all kinds of weird stuff going on trying to run that on core. When I switched it to GUI, no problems! For me the only thing that is not running on core, is the gateway.
