  1. Hi all, I'm looking at new digital signage solution for our school. Narrowed it down to Rise Vision or Xibo. I have bought a chrome box and been testing the idea of using Rise Vision and have found it to be ok all round. I have found with testing xibo great to have all on site on a dedicated server but the design and templates with xibo not as good as rise vision. If I went with Xibo I would use old laptops instead of buying chrome boxes so would save money there. Ultimately though I need something that once setup runs smoothly and looks good. Does anyone have any preference over the two or current experience of them in which choice I should go for?
  2. Out of interest what digital signage solution do you use? Looking at moving to digital signage using android dongles
  3. I second this!
  4. I am in the process of setting up two digital signage notice screens for our staff room. I am still getting to grips with xibo. What I was hoping to do was create an area on the screen where all of the days cover is automatically posted on here from SIMS. Is anybody doing this at the moment or have any idea how to do it?
  5. Thank you so much @Marshall_IT Not sure if I'm being thick here but do I install this on the server or am I ok to install this on machine I have access to group policy on?
  6. @Marshall_IT sorry to bother on a Monday morning but did you have any joy with that article? Thanks
  7. Brilliant, that would be really helpful. Thankyou
  8. Hi all, I'm trying to deploy a powerpoint template to every machine on the network. Most PCs are windows 7 now and using Office 2013. Is this something I can do via a GPO? We have a new school powerpoint template designed and would like all staff and students to have it appear as their default template in powerpoint when they come to select? Many Thanks
  9. Thats what I cant figure out, as administrator I can see all the work in the folder but as a student they can copy and paste things in but still see an empty folder. I dont mind if students see other students files are in there but do not want them to be open/read them etc. I tried the permissions for a folder specific to the student but still no joy. Any other ideas? Thank you for your help
  10. So far for students if I 'Allow': List Folder Creation Write Students can copy work into the folder but it still displays an empty folder. Is there a way of students being able to see their work in the folder but not be able to read and execute or delete?
  11. Thanks, will give that a go and let you know how I get on.
  12. Thanks for the response. Will have a go with this one
  13. We use this Asset Management Software & Tracking by Wasp Barcode works really well
  14. Hi, I am currently trying to set up a Drop folders on a student shared drive which they can access from home. I basically want to see up folders which acts like a post box system with the students. They can only put files in there, once they have done this they cannot read/write/delete theirs or any other files. I have looked what feels like everywhere to find the permissions to do this and am yet to find anywhere that can solve my problem. The share is on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server. Any help would be very much appreciated.
