Actually yes it does, and quite good performance too.. I have a thin client server running on a Dell 2600 server with 3GB ram and twin XEON cpu's runs great!! I'm actually quite surprised!

Make A server into a thin client server, and boot the rest of the machines you have spare from that server and create a thin client environment

THis osunds like a program that was on a while ago about a powercut that took out the whole of LOndon I think it was... it has looters etc on it, thungs breaking into peoples premises if they thought theyd have a generator. Hi everyone, as you may have seen me mention on here that we are moving away from Windows, we have thin clients set up and working in a test environment. I had tried Debian and Ubuntu previously to get up and running and to be honest CentOS was far easier, Just enable EPEL repo - "yum install ltsp". it was a case of set DHCP, use ltsp-build-client and that was it PC's are booting into LTSP thin client environment. I can provide config files for any that interested there's not a lot of documentation CentOS that I could find on the internet. The only known issues so far are that machines don't shut-down when you click shut-down from login screen - machines are halting at Shutting down Ethernet interfaces. The Bonus with CentOS also is that you don't have to use NBD like you do in Ubuntu, which means you don't have to update your image every time you change or install something in your image. You simply reboot the client and as it's done over NFS in CentOS the clients will boot into the environment and everything will be there. Thanks

Ahhhh I see ... yeah could be a windows issue, we don't run Windows Servers on KVM all Linux.

Are you looking at a dedicated box to do do this from within your own network (Hosted your side) or are you looking to implement something on site ?

We Use PFSense with squid and Dansguardian guardian packages, all out internet is logged/monitored and filtered. Free Open Source but a damn good product as I'm sure many will agree with on here. https://www.pfsense.org/

You could try KVM on CentOS - I've had nothing but success, with it. Servers been up for over 2 years now and is running 7-8 Virtual Machines on KVM. Nothings ever dropped so it could be an Ubuntu/MINT problem possibly. Have you checked see if there are any updates available ?

Yes Do be careful looking at lazers guys, I know of people who have been blinded by looking at fibre that hasn't been connected and someone connected it at the other end unknowingly...

Hi, As people may be aware we are moving from Windows and are going completely linux thin clients, i have found an amazing tool for profile creation and management. For those of you who have redhat based system run this command: "yum install sabayon" then run sabayon and have a play - I'm sure like me you'll be impressed. You can create a profile, edit that profile -once you click edit you get thrown in to the actual user environment in X Windows - configure everything, lock it down and hit save... then go back to sabayon and click which users you want to apply that profile to. Viola!

Although I can be covered on the company insurance, it's not easy to buy a car if you've just passed your test or are a new driver / without an already existing policy. Seems quite daunting and a bit of a nightmare for a new driver.

OK i've just had a word with the company manager and they can insure a car for me under the company policy ... thats nice of them .. so I can be insured from the date I buy it And I'd be a named driver on all the company vehicles Thanks for the information everyone!!
