At least I'm over the age threshold I hope im 26 in May.. I might see if I can be insured under the companies insurance as that does cover driving ANY Vehicle.. might have to ask nicely OR pay for a policy before I get a car.. I know what Im looking for.... Anything hatchback / estate, Diesel... something like a Citroen C5 or Pug 406, Focus TDCI or Mondeo Diesel.

HMmmmm thanks for all of the information and advice.. whoever comes with me to buy needs to check their policy first make sure they can drive 3rd party.... will probs be buying privately so will make sure it still holds insurance... at least until I get it home

OK Everywhere I read, Car has to be insured in it's own right ... this includes someone driving it Fully Comp. Especially Vehicles not owned by themselves... I guess its a thorough read of a policy. Confused :S (And not the insurance compare site)

Hi all, How does it work IF I'm buying a car.. (Which I'm not yet) obviously, If i'm going to view a car, I might not buy it for one reason or another... but If I did buy it do I have to phone an insurance company and get insured on the spot ? Or Do I have to take someone with me who is insured fully comp ? but then I understand it that the vehicle in it's own right has to be insured for anyone to be able to drive it fully comp or not ? How's it work ? I'm guessing I couldn't drive it home then insure it ? Thanks all.

Really? My insurance isnt that high, I've had as little quoted as £1200 for a Kia Sedona, thats well within the affordable limit for me, im 26 in May. That price was guaranteed too as the broker rang me up asking if I wanted to buy it that day! Whilst 1200 is still quite high, for someone like me it's also quite low too. I'd put full UK licenses passed for 1 month, 6000 Miles a year mileage.

I can assure you @Andrew_C that I have no problems with knowing the highway code, and I have plenty of experience with driving, not motorways mind but normal driving, and my alertness is good, I saw more hazards on the theory test than I was actually graded for, and saw them way before I should of clocked thats why I kept failing it.. clicking too early!! Looking forward to getting my practical test passed, im itching to get it done!! Can't wait

I believe Wordpress "specifically" wants FTP .. I had the same issue when I was web hosting, unless you manually upload the packages to the server - even then it's not 100%

The Hazard Perception videos are awful and I would say that looking at a small square on a computer screen does not determine if you can see hazards, for a start when your driving Hazards just 'register' everything is a hazrad when your driving at 60 mph!! on a little video screen you cant'see hazards properly, they appear as a small blob on a screen it's more like learning to play a computer game, you have to learn how it works to fully understand how to pass it!

Oh and you'll need to start the service which in Redhat would be service vsftpd start - and add it to start up which would be 'chkconfig vsftpd on' commands may differ from Ubuntu.

This may help: 13.04 - Installing FTP and adding user to FTP account - Ask Ubuntu In Redhat I know you have to add a user then allow that user to use FTP in a config file, been that long since I ran FTP servers that I cant remember were the file is. It's probably in /etc/vsftpd or /var/vsftpd.

You need to build an FTP server or have a current FTP server up & running to be able to do it, I believe on Ubuntu you can use vsftpd... it's free as is most stuff on Linux. sudo apt-get install vsftpd No configuration needed either except for adding users.

Nah no car yet, I'll try my best to pass first time, I have been up to "test standard" but had taken a break from driving tuition to concentrate on my theory and that was march last year so will have to get back into the swing of things but that probably wont take long! Thanks - I thought I'd done the worst on it this time too, even failed one of the vids for being disqualified!

At my 4th attempt I've finally passed the damn thing and good riddance to it... what a nightmare! Glad I wont have to use that horrible flawed system ever again, unless I don't pass my test within 2 years ! One step closer!!

Blueprint sounds just the ticket, I was using a web server as an example, as we have a wide variety of Linux servers doing different things. I'll check it out, see what Blueprint does. I don't need the rollback / track functionality but should still do the job. Cheers.

Yeah, its because some of our servers are setup in certain ways, and our documentation can be a nightmare, the main one is some of our public servers are setup in such a way that they have to adhere to certain standards due to the data we hold. I was thinking of a sort of way I can document how we build our servers and why they are built like that, from config files something I can generate from config or export config files too.

Hi, Does anyone know and this may be a big ask because I don't know of anything like this that exists... Is there a way to generate Documentation based on Linux Config files ? For example: if I built a web server based on CentOS, I could download the config files from the server and Import them to something web based perhaps, from there generate something like a web page with a Contents, Index and Search. Then A new starter technician or apprentice could build a web server and the documentation is based around the config files, the files could even be viewed on page too ? I'm hoping this makes sense! Anyone know of anything ? Thanks Chris.

Hi all, Hope everyone had a good weekend ? We are moving over to thin clients here, have got LTSP up & running with CentOS 6.5, my clients are booting fine except there are a few quirks I need to fix, A Google search doesn't show a lot of fixes for CentOS... the problems I'm having is once a client boots to the login screen, you input your username and once you hit enter the screen goes black for a second then you have to input your username again, then input your password - once you've logged in it's fine, any other time you login it doesn't do it, only on a restart. The other thing is the clients wont shutdown, they stop shutting down at shutting down network interface ? Anyone any ideas ? Thanks in advance! Chris.

Rebuild meaning, the RAID Array will rebuild... not the actual running system of the server. RAID has its own memory and will rebuild itself when new disks are installed as it's knows what configuration to use. Correct me if I'm wrong but won't @woreilly need to reinstall his OS if he's replacing the main OS drive if it's failed ??
