Internet Filtering/FireWall Costs
cpjitservices replied to mthomas08's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
If I remember correctly the Juniper Firewalls dont run JunOS... I think its ScreenOS or something... Junos is far far better, but typically is only used in their Routing and Switching platforms.- 22 replies

I get these gold ones from a local toy shop - £3 a pack and they last forever ive had some in my xbox 360 controller for the past year and they aren't flat yet and thats constant use,! I can check the name of them when I get home tonight but they are very good batteries. Looking on google I think they might be made by GP

IF uninstalling the update doesn't work there is a registry fix to disable Outlook Safe mode. -

-
What switches are you using ?
-
Ah I see. Have you got access to the PBX ? Can you re-provision the phones.?

Can I add a W12k server as a member to more than one domain?

So you must have the networks physically separated too then ? separate switches and internet connection ? I say this because, it doesn't matter where the loop occurs it can affect an entire network. -
Remove Chrome, Completely Delete user profile (in registry and from drive C). See if you can follow this guide on the ADM's https://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-templates https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/187202?hl=en I would then re-roll out the chrome.MSI file out through Group Policy, log back in as user once Chrome has re-deployed to recreate user profile. Make sure you use latest version of Chrome. https://www.google.co.uk/chrome/business/browser/admin/

Looking for the perfect backup strategy
cpjitservices replied to Guru42's topic in Enterprise Software
We are an IT Support company - we support hundreds of companies across the region. We offer a backup service using multiple strategies. At most companies we have a local backup... some of those companies/businesses have bought products such as BackupAssist which is fine we run with that, some we have implemented our own. Mainly we use DeltaCopy to/from our servers at the main site, our main site is replicated to another site that we manage. Backups are mainly anything stored on servers and bare metals. Backups run during the night every night.- 4 replies

Directory per user, set users home dir on the FTP of the created user folder.

You can get PRTG free for 100 sensors. I'd recommend it any day. Very easy to setup and configure. With it being sensor based you can do a lot more than 'PING' a VM.

How to launch google-chrome/chromium application shortcut in fullscreen/kiosk mode - Ask Ubuntu chromium-browser --kiosk &; sleep 5; xdotool key F11
-
No, although you can do. You don't have to. When I set up an internet cafe I had it run as startup task so when user logs in Firefox --kiosk would start.
-
You can put any distro in kiosk mode, just log in and change your browser to run IE chrome or firefox with the "--kiosk" flags.

Yep works a treat!

I worked in a college at a previous role, We had a full Linux lab for the learners on Computer Science course and also Cisco CCNA. Fileshares etc where all tied to a Samba Server, mounted shares upon user login. Logins managed by LDAP/389 Server. Everything was CentOS/ Fedora based. CentOS on servers and Fedora on the Desktops.
