I'd had a look into this a while back, it couldnt be done then as access to the likes of Office just wouldnt work on Linux. You could use Open Office but if it doesnt look remotely like Office 2010 users will complain and not use it. I'd looked at Samba 4, and would run with it today. Group policy etc can be done easily on Samba 4. All managed from a local workstation. I'd also be looking at sacking of Hyper-V/VMware at the same time and go with XenServer. These days, I'm sure it could be done. You could probably get away with a Linux thin client. @superaz300 yes it is for use on a KC connection, with 1 gig fiber. I believe the MTU is already set at 1492. Ill double check thanks

Hi all, I have a Draytek 2920n with Gigabit ports for LAN and WAN. Set this particular one up the other day on a gigabit internet connection and did a speed test, max throughput was 120-125 mbps on speedtest. Tried multiple servers etc. Anyone had a problem with these routers on gig WAN ? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, Struggling a bit trying to get SCCM 2012 SP2 to install, I cant for the life of me get past Pre Req checks. Ive installed SQL 2012, its up to date. Im a noob when it comes to SQL - not really had a lot to do with it. Looking at some of the guides on the internet I cant seem to find a good one, seem to be bits missing. I am failing at one pre req, sysadmin has not go the right to access SQL or something along those lines, Ive tried a lot of options here. Been in services and have changed to local account and domain account and no difference when running re-check. Have also been into SQL Studio and added new login and added a domain user with admin provs to no success. Ive ended up with 4 different instances of SQL so have started the removal process and will begin again from the beginning. I was hoping SQL Express could be used but seems not ? Anyone got a definitive FULL guide ? Thanks in advance. Kind Regards.

Im presuming that GPO for 5 installs has only run once and not needed again ? So shouldn't be running if the software has already been installed via GPO ? If its deploying 5 installs every time you boot up then that will take a long time. You might have to get some newer machines, Maybe with SSD's ? Upgrade network links to gigabit too perhaps ?

RM ? CC4 ? Dump it all, rebuild and go Vanilla.
