Hi, We've done an upgrade from Windows 10 and the default keyboard layout is American. Can we change a setting network-wide that adds English UK and sets it as default for all users?

For our off-site nurseries we used to use DirectAccess. It worked, that's about it. I have since changed to a Sophos UTM firewall and several Sophos RED (Remote ethernet device) at each location and it is amazing. direct access is ok for ad-hoc EG home workers but not all day every day

Hi New 2012 virtual server on hyper v (well 2 actually) Both are stuck on "Preparing to install" after doing updates from Microsoft rather than WSUS. Retried and also run Windows update fix from microsoft and done a reboot but still does the same. Thanks

I've got an 11 plate Corsa D 1.3 CDTI. Does 600 mile nearly on 1 tank. Very reliable and cheap to service. The indicators do take some getting used to though. I'm taking mine to Paris in the summer

I have just setup a new server with WSUS on. What is the best way of dealing with all the updates. I had only downloaded the categories I asked it to. Is it best to approve them all including the superseded ones?

Sorted it. Managed to put the door lock software onto another PC and just get it to access the database on the server

We have some Mifare door lock software and it uses a USB device to program the cards. I have put the software on a virtual server on hyper V and connected the USB to the physical server. Is it possible to make the hyperv server see the physical USB connection?

Getting a new (2nd hand) server with 8 x 300GB SAS drives. Is it best practice still to use 2 for OS and 6 in RAID 5 for data or put all 8 on RAID 5? Even 6 giving 1.5Tb of data would be ok for now

Its the server itself, they are all slow - writing the replacement spec as we speak.

Hi Just wondering if anyone still uses WSUS? We do updates manually each half term as WSUS is slow on our ageing servers. Was just thinking when we get a new server, whether to use WSUS? We are licensed for Systemcenter too. Or do people use patch management on a 3rd party product. Thanks

Hello We have an excel spreadsheet for all our hardware inventory stuff - a tab for each type of device. It works and is clear to read. But ideally I'd like it on Office 365 somehow. Is there any sharepoint templates for this that a free(ish). Obviously the fields are different for each type of device. It it had tracking for print stock too that would be good.

I might have missed this one too. Is there a option so the first time someone logs on and clicks the start menu it doesn't come up with the classic shell options? I've set the policy so its 2 columns

So glad I found this. Got it setup and working great. One question (and I might be missing the setting) Where can I configure it so it goes straight to logon screen rather than showing the time. I've got it working for Win 7 but that policy doesn't seem to apply on Win10. Is it an option in Classic explorer?

We had a Sophos UTM install last week. The proxy settings have been set on a domain wide policy, which ticks the autodetect proxy, and puts in the location of the script. When I've looked they have done it on User Config - Preferences = IE8 but we are running the latest version (and chrome) For 90% of people it works but for some it doesn't. Including random pupils I've done gpupdate and ipconfig / flushdns but still doesn't work. If I change it manually and enter the proxy settings in the bottom box on IE settings it works fine. Any suggestions please.

Hi We are trailing Office 365 groups and have a handful of staff who are in a group and have files in the shared onedrive, one of those been a logo. Is there a way to add a picture, either in Word on Word online that is saved in the group. I can't find it anywhere. We can't map the shortcut for OneDrive for business to it as she has that mapped as her own onedrive. Thanks

Hi Have a couple of questions regarding Impero. We currently have it on Trial. 1- I sit with the console open all day. If I log into the console on another machine as another user I can't access my internet log as its says I'm logged into the console (which I am). My question is if I come out of the console on my desktop could someone else view my web history. I want them to be able to as it's important that the IT staff internet is logged too. 2 - Does anyone use patch management? How good is it? Thanks

Agreed. We have 10 accounts with them on Lloydslink. Only works in compatibility mode in IE

Yes its Virgin media business but a hme-style connection. At present we have approx 16 off-site workers that connect in via DirectAccess

We have a main outreach office that is about 8 miles away. We don't have any schools as yet but could be anything up to 40 miles away !
