I'm guessing they are different to these? New Motorcycle/Biker Low Light Yellow Tinted UV400 Driving Glasses + Free Pouch | eBay
-
Your right about blinking, that is what the optician told me to do more of ! I tried yellow tinted lenses that I used for skiing but couldn't tell a benefit really. Specsavers have some new driving glasses that stop blue light, there supposed to be good for computer work too.

How does everyone manage with the daily eye strain when managing a network? I used to wear contact lenses but eyes were getting too dry. I've gone back to my glasses and put hydrating drops in regular but still get sore eye muscles later in the day. I do the usual and try to take breaks looking away from screen etc Thanks

We have been moving network drives around and consolidating them. Now when users open word they get the message: The Drive or network connection that the shortcut xxxx.ink refers to is unavailable. This is a stale link to some shortcuts, they are different for different people. Whats the best way about stopping this / deleting stale shortcuts Thanks

Might have to give that a go Tim, I normally just use powershell. Have photos for all our AD users

We've gone with hosted VoIP, mainly because we have off-site premises as well. Our handsets are Yealink. The service has its own broadband line and each phone is patched into a different switch so doesn't touch the school network.

Educational Software !! 2Simple collection has a splash screen that has links to all the 2 simple collection programs. They programmed there software to look for program files (its old software). Because we're putting it on 64 bit machines it installs into x86 and there splash screen doesn't think the programs are installed.

Hi We have an MSI and it installs to Program Files(x86). Can I set it anywhere to it installs in just Program files instead? Thanks

We were advised before our Office migration to keep it as a separate account rather than do single or same sign on. We are now moving to Skype for business and our staff move round quite a bit, meaning they will need to put in their Office 365 credentials every time they use a new PC. Can I implement single sign on now or is it too late? Thanks

I'd be interested in this too, although I don't think many schools use it. We are just migrating from Lync

Hi The previous NM setup a superscope in DHCP. 10.10.*.* with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 In DHCP we have 10.10.6.* setup for new leases, servers, wifi points etc and this has become full. We also have 10.10.7.* setup but is no longer used. Can I extend it so that client also get 7.* addresses and still work. We have 8.* setup for iPads but have to add a reservation in that scope on the mac address in order for it to get a 8.* address. Any help on this would be appreciated. Don't particularly want to re-setup the whole of DHCP if I can help it Thanks

Most connect via direct access but odd few via Internet

Hi. We are looking for some better quality remote support software. We currently use Teamviewer licensed for business and we have all off-site computers and laptops on it. All internal ones are not on it. Trouble is for a 2nd technician it adds another £400ish. Can anyone else recommend some other software? I'd try skeep vnc but can it support clients that are not in the AD ? Looking for something that has a nice layout to organise PC's into folders like teamviewer does. Thanks

We have offsite nurseries already and I was thinking of going down the Sophos UTM way with a RED15 at each site, linking it back to the servers at the main site. Has scope for additional primary schools if needed.

Hello Slowly getting things migrated to Office 365 - exchange, Lync etc Just wondering if anyone knows of a free IT Helpdesk and Intranet template for Sharepoint 365? Or do I need to sit and make one? The intranet will just been used by staff for adding messages. The helpdesk will be for logging IT support requests Thanks

Exchange 2010 to O365 Migration Errors
karldenton replied to karldenton's topic in Windows Server 2012
Thanks, traffic goes from Exchange server, to a firewall server with TMG installed and then straight out to internet. No proxies involved. -
Hi I have been trying to do a cutover migration over the last few weeks and keep getting errors. The main one is : Autodiscover works fine for the users in question when setting up an outlook account. Any suggestions please? Thanks

Derr, found you need to enable scavenging on the actual zone as well. What is recommendation for scavenging length compared to DHCP lease?
-
Hi Just been looking through our DNS and noticed lots of old stale records - 2014 etc Several entries for same IP address and if you tracert to a stale record its points to the new computer with the same IP address. However, on the server its set to scavenge after 7 days. Any suggestions please without going deleting all the old ones. Thanks

His job role is mainly first line -- changing toners etc which he can do. He can also do new logons too. I don't want him delving into too much but also want him to be more confident when fixing things.

Many thanks for your input Pete. The local files for each school will be on the server there so it will only be the AD replications mainly that will go from site to site. It will be 2 technicians covering a few sites. I don't suppose I can rename the forest we currently have with 1 domain in? Never done forests and child domains before

It'll be the main primary site and then adding a couple of other primaries for now. The main site has 150MB virgin broadband load balanced. The other primaries will be 70mb fibre if that would be ok?
