  1. I bought it about a year ago. They didn't have the 36bay version then. It's the loudest thing in our server room!
  2. I have the 24 Bay version of that case. It's a beast. 22 x 2tb Disks in it.
  3. I've been asked to monitor PC usage around the site. We have a few classrooms with a few PCs in that arent been used. Is there a way to get the total usage? Andy
  4. To get the auto discovery to work in ghost you need to enable multicast routing on the switch. The 2824 doesn't support this though. I'm not sure what your speed issues are. I saw in increase when I upgraded to 2.5.

  10. goto networking » outgoing » ports The port rules should say Default deny. Make sure allow only listed ports is checked. You should be able to add a new rule with a cutom port number of 8443 there. Andy

  14. get the latest Moodle 1.9.9+. There is loads of course reset fixes in there. All our courses reset with any problems.

  17. Hmm Future releases of VMware vCenter Server might not support installation on 32-bit Windows operating systems. VMware recommends installing vCenter Server on a 64-bit Windows operating system.
  18. I've seem some weirdness with bonded/teamed connections on dc's. I just run my DC's on a single cat5e gigabit link now.
  19. I'm using a Areca ARC-1280ML with 2TB Western Digital WD2002FYPS RE4-GP drives configered with Raid 6. I've had 5 of these drives fail now. Raid card is pretty good.
  20. If I was you, id go for more faster smaller discs than the 2tb ones. Whats your budget for this?

  22. Depends what load you are putting on your disks. The last thing you want is for the disks been unable to keep up with demand. I had that issue before and everything just grinds to a halt.
  23. EqualLogic arrays are very good. I have two now and very pleased. Bigger disks are not always the best option. Get the fastest discs you can afford. If have loads of money get a dedicated switch for the ISCSI. Your 5406 should cope with the traffic if not.
  24. Yep. Took ages to work out what is was. The UPS was red hot. Luckly it was just powering a switch.
  25. I'm not sure you can use the Domain Admins group. Create another group in AD and add yourself to that. Then map that to the network admins group on the smoothwall. My setup is nearly the same as yours apart from staff are not allowed to override the blocks.
