  1. WE have the same system and added in VOIP later. Works really well in mixed mode. I've been using a office 70ip for over a year now with no problems. Andy
  2. I've had a utm-1000 for over a year. Very happy with it. If you want to have a chat about it, drop me a PM. Andy
  3. Yep. Your core switch should do all the routing.
  4. Thanks. It's a very old server with old student details on.
  5. Help Can anybody sort me out with an iso of NT4 server? Andy
  6. You need to create a virtual switch for each vm and assign a nic to it.
  7. I had an issue a bit like yours. After adding in vlans dhcp wouldn't give addresses out. I restart the switch and it worked! Worth a try.
  8. Account Settings:New Account Settings:Mailbox: Should be a tick box for Require Strong Passwords. I'm not 100% sure if it changes existing accounts.
  9. YES! Have a look at the Cisco 3750's. Hp have had a few problems with Flow control and Jumbo frames been on at the same time.
  10. If there are no vlans then the switches will know about every mac address on the LAN. Not just the ones attached to them.
  11. IF you are after training, this company is very good. Courses PAT Testing- PAT Testing Training Courses in London Leeds Bristol Birmingham Manchester
  12. I think you need to turn on ip multicast-routing. Have a look at the HPforums. There is a few good tips on there.
  13. I've just checked that report. It's working on mine. Well done to the smoothwall team. These reports are very good.
  14. Almost forgot. The dells have a drac controller built in as well. Thats another network cable.
  15. We just had a new build. The 8212zl was part of that. I've only got one 10gb link going to that at the moment. I've got three servers for HA. I'm not to sure what vmware will do yet but it should balance the vm's across the three servers unless one fails. Got lots of planning to make sure it will fall over to just two servers. The dells have dual port ISCSI hba's as well. So 8 ports in total. 4 for the vm network. (trunk setup into hp, load balancing on ip hash) 1 for vmotion, 1 for Mangement network. I'm pretty impessed at the moment but early days yet.
  16. Welcome to the forums. Been Toronto a few times. Really nice place!
  17. Yeah daisyplc it is. We have 8 lines which seems to suit us at the moment. I'm not sure what the line rental is.
  18. We got a ISDN30 with daisy communcations. They installed it for free.
  19. Anybody got it yet? Been pressing that damm refresh upgrades button for days now!
  20. The SAN was £24750. Most of our storage and servers were due for renewal anway. It work out nearly the same price as replacing them. I put in a HP ProCurve 8212zl as the core switch over the summer. That very nice too!!!!

Have bought mainly HP in the past but work out cheaper to get ESXi with the dells. Equalogics have just lanuched the 6000 series. The PS6000S has solid state drives.
  22. Download a copy of vmware server and install it as a vm. Work's just as well. LInux can be a right pain with some hardware. If you don'y want any issues with hardware, have a look at the utm.
  23. If you are using OM3 fibre you should get 300 metres on 10Gb. It should be marked on the fibre which OM it is (1,2 or 3)
  24. To get a file bigger than 256gb you will need to recreate your VMFS filesystem with a larger block size.
  25. Open up a webpage and go to the ip address of the vmware Esxi server. It should display a webpage which can download VMware Infrastructure Client from.
