Really quick and easy question here... does anyone know if there are any restrictions on running the Promethean software on a SmartBoard? I know you can do it, but is there anything that this solution won't allow you to do, or is it as fully featured as running smart software on the smartboard? Adam

Hello I recently installed Wamp (Apache, PHP and MySQL) on a Windows 2003 server. Aim of the game was to get a bit of software running, that we have purchased, that requries PHP and MySQL. I've made the folder that stores the PHP scripts read and writeable to everyone. When i run the installer.php file, however, I get this message: Please make sure that file .. is writeable by the web server. Do chmod 666 ... Now, obviously, you can't do CHMOD 666 within Windows 2003, however, as I said, I have made the file read and writeable to everyone. I've even modified the apache httpd.conf file to read this: Options Indexes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All Order allow,deny Allow from all Which should give full access. However, even this doesn't work. I'm hoping someone, somewhere, somehow will be able to help A.

Hi, thanks for your reply... what you'be got for me there is not far off from what I need, so I'm hoping you can modify this for me slightly - I have zero skills in this kind of coding. So, let's say I click Send in outlook. I would like a popup box to appear, which says something like: "Is this an UM or MP email?" And then user is presented with two buttons, UM and MP. If they click UM, the word UM: is inserted into subject line automatically, or if they click MP, MP: is inserted into subject line. Really genuinly hope you can help with this! Adam

Hiya, hoping someone here will know the answer to this. We use some software, that based on a certain word in the subject line of an email (say, for example if my subject starts with Domain1), it will attach a Domain1 email template. If I use Domain2 in subject, a different template is used. What I'm looking for now is a bit of software, or VBscrript, that could run on a user's machine... what should happen is that when someone clicks on send, it will pop up, and ask which word to insert into subject, and offer them 2 or more options. Anyone come across anything like this by any chance? Adam

I'd like to think, having worked in schools in IT dealing with networks since 2001, I now have the experience. I thought about the intensive course, but I just thought financially, they are quite a bit more than a non-intensive course, and money is an issue A.

Happy easter everyone! I am contemplating doing my MCITP exams in Server 2008, however, after doing research I have found that the choice is quite bewildering. Essentially, I am looking to do it part time, in London or Kent area. Has anyone done this exam, and can give me advice where they've done it, and how they've found it? So many companies offer this, and the price is so varried, I really can't decide who to go with... A.

Having said that... even compared to last year, Kimi is not on the ball this year. He was stuck behind Alonso (on a slower, much heavier car) until FA made a mistake. Within half a lap, KR was what... a second up on him? So if his car was THAT much faster (and they both have KERS, so it's not even a quesiton of that), why didn't KR bother overtaking? Maybe this really will be his last season, the man doesn't care any more.

Highlight of the race? Ferrari Communications guy talking about how Kimi is going to get back into the car, and continue racing, because Kimi is a racer, and wants to be in the car. ... Meanwhile, Kimi is walking around in a T-Shirt and shorts, blatantly not giving a toss about the race.

Good afternoon, maybe someone here will know the answer. we have two Wyse servers. Server 1 is only used for 1 set of student images; server 2 has a second set of student images, and the staff computer image. All student computers can boot up fine using the image (on server 1 and server 2), and can log on fine. HOwever, the staff image can be loaded, but all 65 machines have suddenly dropped off the network - so while they load the image, when staff log on, they get the "domain controller unavailable" message. It's not an image issue as such, as the image has not changed in two months, and has worked fine until now, and is on no-cache mode, and as such, changes are not saved to it. It's not a server issue, as Server 2's student image works absolutely fine. We have made the image volatile, and logged on locally to a workstation. Rejoined domain, rebooted, machine logged on fine. However, same image does not work on any other machines, still has same problem. Does anyone have any ideas? It's not really a workable solution for us to go join every machine back on the domain, as it's time consuming and until we know what could have cause ALL staff machines to stop working, we can not guarantee that it won't happen tomorrow. Really hope someone can help, as Wyse say it's an MS problem, and won't help us. Adam

Hi, current PBX is an AAstra Intelligate 2065, which we have been informed by actimax (current supplier) is capable of being upgraded to support VoIP via an add-in. A.

This is my main worry as well. As far as i can tel, it's really only an option in the first place, as the supplier is already known to us, and we know we cn trust them.

Hullo, got a question here, hoping someone here can give me advice. Essentially, the college currently has an ISDN30 digital phone line coming into the school. We have used it up to now, but have reached maximum capacity on number of handsets available (i.e. number of extensions). This wouldn't be so much of an issue, but we are building a new block, and will require an additional 40-50 handsets, which our current system can not handle. We have three options, and am looking for advice on what to do. 1: Stay with current supplier, and have a VoIP system ONLY in the new block, therefor have a mixed system. 2: Move to a new supplier, and revamp the whole system. That is, VoIP in the new block and the new block, but a digital line to the outside world. 3: As option 2, but have IP telephony to the outside world, running on a dedicated adsl line. Financially, 1) is cheapest, however, cost difference is not big enough to be a major factor in decision. If anyone out there could help me with some advice, pros and cons of all three systems, or helpful words... please give All help received gratefully Adam
