  1. Personally, I think they were both in the wrong. The guy who wants to pull over is waiting on the charity of the guy inside. The guy inside could easily have backed off, and let him slide in. He chose not to. Rude! The guy on the outside should have just accepted it. But much like other aspects of society...the "be first at all costs" attitude took over and neither would yield to the other.
  2. I'm on O2...but this is correct....as I've just found out! Ofcom | Mobile phone jammers and cellular enhancers The last paragraph says it all really! £5000 and/or 51 weeks in clink....Niiiiice!
  3. Not unless I really, really, really have to!
  4. Has anyone found a mobile signal booster that is reliable? I've spent the last few days trying to source a booster, and wouldn't you know....The only 2 I can find, and neither company wants to answer the phone OR email, so I'm a little bit fed up! Has anyone found anything like this for 1000m2? Here are the 2 I've found so far.... High powered O2 and Vodafone mobile phone signal booster Large 900mhz 1000m2 - £179.99 : gsmmobilesignalbooster.co.uk Same model, but do they want the business? Seems not from their reluctance to make contact!!!
  5. The Darwin Awards at their purest???
  6. BBC News - Drill reaches Antarctica's under-ice Lake Whillans It would seem like the Merkins think they've broken through..... I'm pretty sure there IS a scientist down there who's just poured his coffee into his chess computer.... Get ready for the end of civilisation as we know it.... I REPEAT.... I welcome our new Amoeban overlords!
  7. I'm pretty sure that there wasn't just one set of skid marks left, during the shooting of that video....
  8. But this is a major problem...and I accept the size of it....People no longer seem to have that attitude. It's ALL "gimme gimme gimme" and that has, to an extent, been built by the welfare culture. But this only came about because of the destruction of the manufacturing base by the Thatcher years. The massive loss of jobs in the 80's has made this country what it now is.
  9. Aaaaannnnddd...back in the room! My apologies @witch , as I have no intention of tarring anyone. However, on such an emotive subject as this, there are always going to be some sweeping generalisations that slip through the net! For instance: All people on benefits are scroungers and work-shy. My wife works for the DWP and although a fair number do seem to spend their lives going from Jobcentre to pub to bookies etc, there are more that WANT to be in work. The problem is that this country has been turned from manufacturing to services. And some people believe that they are TOO GOOD to do those kind of jobs. This is why the immigrants were so successful. They have no qualms about doing ANY job which allows them to send money home to their family. I KNOW this to be true as I have had these conversations before.
  10. What do you class as "spent directly on children"? Only on clothes? Or is spending it on food allowed? It would be to improve their quality of life, surely? A utopian view, if ever there was one! You will NEVER get those at the top of the pyramid worrying about those at the bottom.
  11. That's a rather simplistic, and may I say, sweeping view! You only see the bad stories in the paper....especially the more right-wing papers (I'm looking at you, The Sun and Daily Mail!). No one wants to read about the single parents that struggle to give their kids a life. Who do their very best to look after them and not make that the defining instance of their young lives. It's much better to have a headline "Woman has 4th kid...and she's on BENEFITS!" That way you can get the middle classes all hot around the collar!
  12. WTF? Thank whichever deity YOU believe in that @andyturpie is NOT in government! So, let's get this straight.... You would take money AWAY from children, whose Father is not on the birth certificate? Does the phrase "Child Poverty" mean nothing to you??? Secondly, the "prove that they were not able to contribute..." ....Unbelievable! What people CHOOSE to do with THEIR money is their lookout. I have, so far, paid 27 years worth of NI contributions and tax. In another 25 years, I shall be able to retire. I will do this with (probably) a minimum pension. This is not because I chose family holidays, etc, but because of what the current government have done to my (former) savings.
  13. Indeed....and I agree with that point. However, I'm not convinced that an online forum is the place to do it. The arguments become the same, throughout, and threads DO go round and round in circles. You only need to look back at all the other political threads! The people at the top actually seem to care less and less for those below as the years pass. Are benefits REALLY the source of problems? Not the massive influx of immigrant workers, so there are less jobs for those on benefits to aim for? Or possibly the multi-national companies that pay next to no tax, despite having operations worth billions? All of these ARE factors. But no-one really wants to admit to what must be done!
  14. Am I the only one who sees the potential for this thread to go on for another 10 pages, yet continue to go round and round in circles? *Not convinced that IT and politics mix*
  15. As long as you continue to swallow the tory party line, that's what you will believe. It was actually the Sub-Prime markets in the good ole US of A that ditched the world into recession....But don't let the truth stand in the way of party politics, eh?
  16. Indeed.....that has somewhat quashed my ardour for it! Now if it came pre-installed.....
  17. It's an APP???? Where? What's it called? I MUST HAVE IT!!!!! Come on, @ZeroHour, where are you? I NEED to know!! Anyone? Anyone else know???? :hellllppp:
  18. I'm not usually swayed by pretty things*..... But that carousel view really floats my boat!! * I'm ALWAYS swayed by my wife!
  19. That looks a pretty freakin good piece of kit.... If it REALLY was that good, I'd be looking at getting one too. You'll have to keep us informed!!
  20. "Put the bowl of food down.....or the kitten gets it!"
  21. Is there still a rampant battle going on? Finally, after much goings on in Nov/Dec got round to a new gfx card and downloaded BF3.... Playing beautifully, but only managed 10 mins on campaign so far. Expect to play a bit more over the weekend!!
  22. I'm thinking that someone has missed my joke on this post! A simple typo, but so easy to miss!
  23. They may also be a lot quicker than you realise, instead of bigger!
  24. I thought I would take a look, and.......... I am astounded! How on earth can you spin out 88 pages on "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey??? How is this possible? And at $19.99 a pop, don't look like there's many buyers.....Shame!
