Scientists to drill deep under the Antartic
aerospacemango replied to LeMarchand's topic in General Chat
Phew! That was a close run thing! So, we've narrowly avoided having to strap the population into chairs, whilst Kurt Russell heats up blood! At least I now know that no one is going to have their hands bitten off whilst performing heart massage.....yet! *EDIT* Waaaiiittt a minute.... I've just read the report and it says that the Ruskies have alreay penetrated a lake similar to this one..... They could already be AMONG US! Hiding in plain sight! Once again, I welcome our new Amoeban Overlords! -
To all edugeekers, I wish a very happy New year! May 2013 bring you what you desire. In the few years that I have been on here, I have been invaluably helped by so many people. This, for me, is the best resource on the web for IT problems, geek chat, and great post. Long may it continue! I shall raise a glass to you all at midnight (UK time!!)

Do they REALLY need tech support in the afterlife? I would have thought that Jobs would have made sure "it just works" since he's been up here.....unless..... Oh no..... That means..... I've gone TO HELL!!!! That explains why I'm STILL sat at a desk....even in the afterlife!

New Species of 'Decoy' Spider Likely Discovered At Tambopata Research Center - Peru Nature Blog As an arachnaphobe, this scares the wotsits out of me.... If they are able to do this, then we are only a few years away from having new spider overlords! I, for one, will not be welcoming them!!!

If you look carefully, you can see a group of 3 on the glacier....and a little bit away there's someone who looks like he coming back down.... I like to think the following conversation took place.... 3 guys: "Brad, have you got the ropes?" 1 guy: "Er,....I thought one of you were bringing them?" 3 guys: "No, Brad....It was down to you. I guess you better go back and get them" 1 guy: "Oh F*$%!" -

I did read on twitter, last night, that it was a fake..... But that's not evidence.... Just hearsay....Pure and simple! -

I would disagree with you there! It seems a Golden Eagle could potentially carry 3 times its own weight. The size of the eagle in the film would suggest it's fully grown and could easily lift a toddler. The toddler may only be 20-30lbs. This is well within the limits to pick up....but not light enough to get away with? -

Scientists to drill deep under the Antartic

Surely there's a chance, however slim, that there may be something detrimental to humans in this lake that's been buried for millenia? Could they be about to release a virus? Or minute particles of a bacteria? Could they find single cell amoeba that will multiply and take over the world? I look forward to serving our new amoeba masters.... -

I used to go out with an English Teacher but we eventually broke up because she disliked my improper use of the colon.... A bloke offered me 8 legs of venison, in the pub the other night...all I could think was "Is that too dear?" -
Just a heads-up for those that may be interested.... 1,227 QI Facts To Blow Your Socks Off: Amazon.co.uk: John Lloyd, John Mitchinson: Books I found this and within a minute it was on my phone!! Oh....and the reason? It's only 20p... Yes, REALLY! 20p! I couldn't believe it either!

I cannot believe that anyone would be remotely surprised by this..... As a new MP, you're shown your office, and shown how to "maximise your expenses" as soon as you get through the door. There is a certain amount of "Everyone else is doing it, so why can't we?" to this situation. I think that you're living in your dreams if you think that these people would linger over making a spurious claim. And I think there's no need to argue about this....We are all acting like a zombie and being misled at every step by EVERY politician....we need to wake up and smell the coffee! But that's just my opinion!

Excellent news! That means I only have to go 30+ miles to my nearest 4G hotspot (or not-so-hotspot if some reports are to be believed!) I think I will hold off on 4G until the pricing and caps are a little more realistic!
