[joke] Monday Afternoon Joke
aerospacemango replied to aerospacemango's topic in Jokes/Interweb Things
And talking of lights..... Woke up at 3, this morning, to find a Boeing 747 outside my bedroom door..... Turns out I'd left the landing light on.... -
I always sleep with the lights on...... That way, at least the other drivers know which lane I'm in.
-
There's a very good reason for that.... Kittens are programmed that when their Mum picks them up by the scruff of the neck, they must stay still. This stops them from slowing the mother down, if they need to escape predators. In fact, the scruff is the easiet way of picking a cat up...cos it works when I do it to them too!! Haven't tried it on the girlfriend yet....but will report back when I have
-
Hannspree are all across Twitter at the mo.... I'd expect them to be fairly decent, but whether they'd be anywhere near the iPad, Samsung Tab or Motorola is doubtful.

[video] Hit and Run, driver in Southall
aerospacemango replied to mattx's topic in Jokes/Interweb Things
As someone I know always used to say.... "It is better to be 10 mins late, in this life, than early for the next life" If you consider that, as you drive, it makes the whole experience that much more pleasurable! -
We're an Agricultural & Horticulture college (Not too hard to find out which one now!!!) The finance for it was set aside so that we could have a "Standard Room Build" so that each tutor would know what to expect from ANY classroom that they use. The 40 PCs were budgetted for, last year, and there looks like there could be 100+ coming, as well, as part of a consortium bid.

[video] Hit and Run, driver in Southall

Agreed.... I have one style of driving now.... Take my time, there is NO need to rush anywhere. Take this morning, for instance.....Driving from Northants to Suffolk, via the A14, I was able to set the cruise control to 70....Sit back, and concentrate on the road ahead, as opposed to the speedo. Watch all around my car and make sure that I check my mirrors as and when. 22 years without a crash tells its own story. Be confident, but don't be reckless! -

Is it me, or has Crystal Tipps pitched up to the seminar? Have a look at 1;49 in.... http://www.tvcream.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/crystal-tipps-and-alistair.jpg Uncanny! -
Good point! However, when I made the original order, I made it very clear to the sales team that these would be used in conjunction with a smartboard. Therefore, I would expect there to be no problems on that score..... At least I hope not....otherwise someone at Viglen will be getting a rather irate email, as it was their recommendation!!!
-
*ahem* Might wanna edit the post so it doesn't say anything about "c.1863" under a picture with cars and buses in!!!!!!! Nice find though, Dave.....Some very good pics in there....especially for a London lad, like myself!

Is that a veiled reference to Mattx bike video? I think it's pretty poor to tar everyone with the same brush. The woman had, quite obviously, little or no road sense, as you can see from the whole video. In defence of Mattx (and I'm no biker) he appeared to show a LOT more road sense, and vision. Cheap shots are just that.....cheap! -
Here we go then! Summer hols are almost upon us, and today i took delivery of..... 34 Smartboards, 34 short-throw projectors, 34 Control panels, and assorted wiring. 103 boxes of stuff that will be fitted over the next 3 weeks. That's not including the 34 All-in-One PCs that will be delivered in the next couple of weeks, for the smartboards! Oh, wait a minute....What's that on the horizon? 40 more (minimum) PCs coming in soon. Plus, the need to rebuild MOST of the campus machines, and get as many on W7 as possible. Most of the time, there will be just 2 of us in the department.......Gonna be a long, busy summer! BUT....no students!!! (until they come back, and start breaking stuff again!) Happy summer holidays, everyone!

I hope it's ok to bump this, every once in a while, just in case someone in the midlands needs a techie!!!

I'd like to get an old spectrum and a copy of Elite.... I could waste a few days on that one!

After having rebuilt my system with a brand spanking quad-core, mo-bo and 4Gb Ram, I made a big mistake last night.... I installed Half Life again! HL2 had already gone on, and I felt like some proper retro PC gaming...... It amazed me that it would play, first of all, and then when it loaded....My word...you could tell it was 10 years old....but it still looked great!

I'm not able to get to my phone, right now, but if you leave a message, a News of the World hack will email it to me later...Thanks!

And thus it ends.... New of the World to have final print on Sunday..... But what about the Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times? Allpart of the same stable, and if you think they have not used phone hacking, then you would be sadly mistaken. -

Or, you could argue, the stitch up job that BSkyB did on Brown at the last election? It was a Sky mic that caught him out in the car, despite the fact that it SHOULD have been switched off. I'm not saying that what Gordon Brown said was right, but that it's another invasion of privacy. I think the next few days will be very interesting, to see what comes out next. With the amount of ad-space being given back by companies, NotW will have to find even more news to fill their pages. By the way, I'm not able to get to my phone at the moment, but if you DO ring, leave a message and a NotW hack will email it to me later....
