Gotta love Bill (QPR Supporter) Bailey!

This is a thread that will go back and forth til the end of time....and that's the whole point. What some find funny, others don't. When Boyle was on Mock the Week, it was generally understood that you were waiting to see what tasteless joke he would come up with next. However, jokes don't need to be told, and can be found in ANY context. Take this example, and then neg rep if I was wrong for laughing..... Back in the days when Jade Goody succumbed to her illness, they were discussing her life and her legacy on Radio 2. It was the Jeremy Vine show, and straight after this discussion, they played Lily Allen's single "The Fear". This is a song that pretty much sums up Goody's life. I sat in my car laughing my head off at the juxtaposition of the conversation and the song. Was it planned? We'll never know. There is humour in that situation, but I wonder how many others picked that up??

I'd just like to state that whenever I give good, or bad, rep, I always like to leave my name and a reason. Though I don't think I've left neg rep for anyone since joining, mainly cos I feel it's a bit pointless. If I have anything to say, I like to say it in the thread.

I never DID understand Mary Whitehouse.... Though I DID understand the Mary Whitehouse Experience, but that's by the by! Everyone has an OFF button on their telly. You ALL have the capacity to go to a different thread, so if you don't like a joke, and you see who posted it, you know that you probably won't like their jokes in future. Which of you would go and see the aforementioned Mr Boyle? I suspect it's only those that find him funny. Therefore, those who don't, stay away. That's how it works! By the way....+REP coming for the filing cabinet joke....Loved that one!!!

I'm of the opinion (rightly or wrongly) that there is very little that CANNOT be joked about. Over the years, humour has become more and more homogenised. So much so that someone like Frankie Boyle is castigated in the press for JOKES! It is the same in any walk of life....what's good for one person, will not be so good for another. However, these days you have to try to please EVERYONE, and as someone very famous once said.... (paraphrasing)"You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time" If you don't like a joke, why NEG REP? Just ignore it and move on..... Nothing to see here, move along please!

Good job, Neph! But they are bound to send you that....the reasoning being that if they can make you happy, you'll tend to forget the one bad delivery experience. It's worth more than £50 to them, to keep you onside..... Buy1 pizza a month for a year and that's £150 at a conservative estimate! Still....nice deal!

Ok....so TF2 is installed on my new build.... But Steam seems rather reticent to send me a confirmation email when I try to buy Football Manager 2011....anyone else having trouble with this?

Let me make one thing clear.............. I LOVED my Calibra, understeer and all! I'd had a Capri, back in the day, and loved the way that that car drove. The Calibra was very similar. Throwing it into a bend and tearing out onto a straight was fantastic! It had power galore, and was brilliant to drive.....Much like the Capri! No....it's not a Ferrari/Porsche/Lambo?maserati, but it had lots of fun on a budget, and if you can find that, then you're doing well!

To be honest.............. If I had a spare grand and a half, I'd buy it just for weekend driving! Had a Calibra before, so I know how nice they are to drive....and that would deffo turn a few heads!

So, just thought I'd put this out there..... I'm looking to move back to the Northants area, towards the end of the year. (2011, not academic year!!) Basically, I've worked for a college for 3 years, and would like to stay in the edu sector. Anyone aware of any positions that might be coming up in the next few months? I know that my 6 year old LOVED all the apps that I put on the college's iPad. I only had it a fortnight with it, but put lots of good stuff on. Just plain fun? Angry Birds (Obviously!) There is quite a bit of physics in that game, so the older kids have more to think about.

Hmmmmm....TF2.... I remember the original!! Playing as an engi, setting my remote gun up, and spraying bullets over everything.... The memories come flooding back!

I'm in the process of upgrading my PC at home, to a quad core, 4GB RAm beast.... Steam is gonna get my money, that's for sure!!! Long time since I played online, so any suggestions of good FPS games......
