Just had a teacher give me a laptop that seems to have had its inputs re-assigned. If I scroll the mouse wheel the entire desktop zooms in and out and if I hit a key on the keyboard it runs a task, for example hitting the h key brings up website history listings page. What has been enabled to cause this?

Pearson onscreen platform installation woes

I have had no end of issues with other software from the same company. -
As you put in another post Vault does not appear to be a full email backup system and even if it was would you want to put all your eggs in one basket. I may be very OTT but the point as far as I can see is to protect your emails should the Google system get hacked or they lose your data, with vault also being a Google you may (although very very unlikely) lose everything.

This works from home but not from school. Can find no option for proxy settings etc.

Samsung Launch Curved Screen Smartphone
edutech4schools replied to Rawns's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
LG are bringing out a curved screen where the screen curves round the edges of the phone. This kind of gives you a bigger screen size on a small phone but not sure how the touch thing will work seeing as you need to hold the phone which means you would be touching the touch screen. -
Anyone using the new Google Apps Admin Panel?
edutech4schools replied to edutech4schools's topic in Cloud Services
Can you give me full admin access to your domain so I can have a look. LOL I will just have to wait. -
Another option (not true cloud backup) that I have been told is very good is the logmein backup. https://secure.logmein.com/products/backup/ You pop a bit of software on any computers you want to be storage units and then set up backup sets etc on the computer you want to backup. The handy thing is if you have a large amount of data you can create a transfer backup set on a portable device and then import it at the other location. Only £24 a year.

@Arthur Thanks for a detailed answer. I will probably get the N5 as I really need to upgrade my S2 which has a cracked screen but have read that the Galaxy S5 (due out in April ish) will be a mega powerful phone with 4gb of ram and up 64gb extra mem although specs are leaked and could be wrong.

I have noticed way to much hair in the bottom of the bath for my liking recently.

This is a known issue and has something to do with folder redirection. I would do a search of this site as you have a few different options and it has been discussed to death. I opted for moving the students home folder inside another folder which had the correct name. So I now have pupils\pupilname\my documents. It does give an extra folder to drill down to if you are a teacher but it works.

Just thought I would try the free one but I get a an error about not being able to connect to the licence server. I will try from home later.
