You do not need permission to use an app on learnPad you just need to get a site licence. It is just an android tablet with a different skin and also has access to Google Play Apps. Most schools I now love them.

Blocked on server as that killed proxy but 10 and 11 are fine for my schools on client computers. We also use Chrome as an alternative.

Not wanting to divert you from your replication DNS issues which you probably should sort first but when I had a server that would not demote doing a dc promo I had to make sure DNS nic settings and Wins settings on the old server were only pointing to the old server(noting in line 2 of the dns nic settings), make sure it was not a GC anymore and for some reason disable any extra network cards. Just my 2 pennies worth which you can choose to ignore.

You think that is bad. I powered up an old server I found in the school which had full SQL, 2gb ram and 10gb c drive. The thing was trashing the HDD just logging on. The Dell raid software should report any HDD issues when I login and also by email. I will check the logs etc.

LA will not help as they no longer fully support the school but still support offsite backups and virus systems as the school pay them for these services separately. Previously they were under contract to look after the schools network + servers, hence LA installed servers but no longer.

Virus is installed and maintained by LA. I have no access to the settings which apparently are the same for all schools in the area. I will order some memory and post back next week

I want to add a shortcut on my Android phone that will play all my thumbs up music. All the playlists I have created can be used as a shortcut but I can not seem to find a way of doing the same for the auto playlists. Not having this option makes no sense to me unless I am missing something.

Same roles although they do run everything DC, DHCP etc so could do with more than 4gb anyway. Will run the scripts on Monday pm when I am at the school.

Is there any database maintenance plans I could run from Studio manager that would help? Why would rebooting the server help Sims work for the following week? I will look at getting more RAM but wonder why it is an issue at this school and not my other schools with same hardware, seeing as this school is one of my smallest with less on the server and less in Sims. Good idea. I will bash one together.

I will check when I am next back at the school but think it is probably the same as the other primary school servers installed by the LA which have 4gb.

Sims runs fine for about a week at one of my primary schools but then grinds to a halt. If I reboot the server everything is normal. This started to happen about a month ago but no major changes in that time. Server 2008r2 SQL 2008r2 with SQL management Studio. What can i do or check so it keeps running. Thanks

Bloody amazed at the Bluetooth quality on the N5. I have used Bluetooth for years but this is the first time it sounded like it was connected with cables, very punchy and could not detect any clipping. On a negative note the stock camera app is pants.

A small primary need me to install Windows 7 or 8 on about 10 (might be a few more) laptops. I do not see the point of setting up the server to deploy for such a small one off job so thought I might use something like Win Pe with GimageX. I will need to take an image (syspreped) I would like to be able to wipe the laptop before applying the new image. I can store the image on the network or USB Is WinPe+GimageX my best option? If so, can someone help me out and post a step by step that will work as I have tried and failed to create a bootable USB with WinPe+Gimagex. Each website has a slightly different approach and I only trust EduGeek.

I think the PS4 will look slightly better after a few years than the xbox but MS have set up 300,000 server for online players. Add that to the fact they have a massive head start in the online gaming side of things and things balance out. Something like 75% of all online gaming last year was done on an xbox and now they have this massive infrastructure setup to take online gaming to the next level. Please do not cancel your order as we need someone to test both and feed back. I will take whichever one you do not want, but can only pay with a smiley.

I was interested in the licensing side of things and if I can legally image and deploy. They came with oem which was re-imaged by stone and also can you legally image and deploy and windows 7 upgrade (not a full windows 7 install).
