I Recently re-installed WSUS about 2 Months ago and enabled automatic approvals for all classifications except drivers, but when I click on 'All Updates' and select 'unapproved' I get a long list of unapproved updates listed. I just about understand WSUS enough to install it but that's about it, so not sure if this is OK or not.

My point is based on price and configurability and unless Apple open up the OS it will never be as configurable as an android. Not fussed about hardware specs as they have pretty much reached a plateau point.

I still do not get it. My Nexus 5 was £300, has no bloatware, actually has an assistant that works (Google Now) and does a crap load of stuff my sisters I-Phone can not do. I read Apple are going to make Siri more like Google Now so it works better in cars.

Do not think anyone would dispute the fact that Apple were the first to create an oblong phone with full screen. Not done much since then tbh.

Google Chrome app launcher installs itself to Windows task bar and is very handy for staff to use, but requires each individual to choose to install it. I am Just wondering if it is possible to automatically install this for all users.

Sorry a bit confused. might be better if I play with a laptop but not back at the school until Thursday. Are you saying it is possible to use the local domain account and also sign into the online account? If so can they use the Gmail account with the domain login account.

So basically Windows 8.1 store is not designed with schools or businesses in mind. Why am I not surprised. Thanks for all the help.

So can they use their Gmail email address to log into windows? This particular school has been using Gapps for about 3 years and are not really interested at the moment in switching to MS.

Does the standard account also then setup email etc, as this would not be a good thing if not controllable via a centralized system.

The head has said she wants access to the store so do I need to apply for Office365? or some other MS account?

Hi, Just setting up some Windows 8.1 laptops for a primary school and realised you cannot access the MS app store with a standard domain login account, is this correct? Are other schools simply using the domain account and not worrying about the app store?

Just been browsing around some different virtual currency sites but it all really confuses me. Probably the most confusing thing is the mining. Why do they have mining? what's it all about?

Think it was an IIS issue. Re-installed WSUS but used a port number rather than linking to the default IIS site and it seems to be OK.

I needed to find a note taking system for our Androids that can also add photos and found Quickoffice was very easy to use when testing from home as it links in with our Google Drive and saves the docs as word documents. While at school Quickoffice cannot connect to drive but if I open the actual drive app all is OK. You can create a local Quickoffice document but the email with attachment also does not work, although if I them open the gmail app and send an attachment it works fine. So something is up with Quickoffice but only while in school. This is at a small primary and the proxy filtering is controlled by RM so no easy way to test but I still get the same issue if I bypass the filtering. Any ideas why this might not be working in school but is fine at home or any alternative note taking software that can contain photos and text and can save as a word doc. The saving to Google drive is not a necessity.

I remove cmd for the pupils using gpo.

Just got some Samsung Galaxy tabs 3 8" version for the staff to play with. If they like them will get some for the pupils. Another option would be touch windows devices.

That is to do with dpi not graphics quality or rendering. The PS4 can process more detail such as shadows or depth of field as it can hold more of this info in its memory and has a better graphics processor. I have never wanted a Playstation but watching both side by side the Playstation graphics look punchier and better.

I was going to get an Xbox one when it came out as I have had the original and the 360, but when I saw the price, the screw up at the announcement and the fact the PS4 on screen graphics look better I simply did not bother getting one. Not sure how they could have messed up so much and lost me as a customer.

Thanks, So that puts DC on a VM So that put s RDP on main server Working it out in my head, if I was to install 2 OS's as I have listed, one physical and one VM, with all the above roles I would have about 60gb of space left which should be enough for WSUS to grow into and MS updates to use. Adding yet another VM, while just about possible would take most of the remaining valuable space needed for something like wsus to use so is not an option at the moment. What I might try is to put the DC role on to the VM all by itself and see if I can get WSUS and RDS to coexist on the same physical server.
