Maybe MS can do a domain app like Google do so it enforces things like encryption and passwords before they are given access to schools data.

Hi, I have a company visiting to demo some interactive screens at 11am so need this info asap. Does anyone know what approx price difference would be when licencing the Smart Notebook software between installing on an own brand Smartboard or licensing for a third party board. I would phone and ask but they take so long to come back with a price. Cheers

@with the amount of times I have done this migration and always put in big red text ' please remove the easymail mx records for this change request' and they never get it correct. they really are useless at reading change requests.

@witch if swgfl do not change the mx records you will not get mail from other easymail users / schools as it gets sent to the schools old easymail server directly.

G+ photo stuff is blinking great, really love the story book and auto awesome. I store all my pics in drive and then get G+ to look at those folders as it gives me move control over folder structure but you still get all the G+ photo goodies. EDIT - move = more

So is it the mdt part that makes this possible as I have tried moving images between wds servers without any joy.

I am after a deployment method / server that will allow me to create an image and then when I am at a new location be able to deploy the image. Currently using CloneZilla from a USB key and this does work but feels a bit dated and clunky. I like WDS but this seems to be domain dependant which is no good for me. What I really want is something I can run from my laptop, so I can update the image easily and deploy at whichever site I am at. Any thoughts?

When I run the 'System Config Checker' It displays the results page for like a nano second and the vanishes. I have tried to screen capture the results but so far have not been able. Not a great start so far.

I am migrating from SQL 2008r2 (full) to SQL2012 (free) which is part of the Sims migration utility. I kicked of the migration about 45 mins ago and the utility is still at stage 1, which is installing SQL2012 express. Anyone recently used this tool? if so how long did it take to complete this stage. By the way it has not crashed and the blue bar is moving at the bottom of the util its just I could have manually installed this a few times over by now.

Google Apps for Education???? All the Office 365 schools I know have had issues migrating, they got there but not without issues. Not very helpful for you but hay ho.

All we had to do was call the ICO and get the school added to the 'Data is held outside the EU' section. But I think they might have bulk added all schools to this now. Nothing to do with the LA which services you decide to use.

most primary schools seem to use RM Safetynet Plus. It's offsite and looked after by SEGFL etc and is very cheap (something like £100) as all the schools club together.

YAY all fixed. Somehow a typo had appeared in the code that moved the users. No idea how that happened as I was simply running the same batch file on each server. Thanks for the help. Final question, does FMS have the same issues? If so should the code look like this? with fms.fms

Just so you know, When I look in SQL studio, under the Sims database, in Security, users are all the Sims users. Going back to the code, This is the code I have been using 1 and this is the code I have not used as I found it on the internet 2 Then you say I could use this code 3 EDIT: So the code I have been using (1) does not have exec and the one you suggested (3) does, so does that mean the code I found on the internet (2)is better? No joy using SQL studio. Imports fine but same issue. No all databases are just named Sims. I have also checked all the connect.ini files.
