[Office 365] OWA in Internet Explorer Blank Screen
jonnykewell1 replied to jonnykewell1's topic in Cloud Services

Good Morning, We seem to be having an issue with Office 365 email in Internet explorer which seems to be becoming more wide spread. When the users open their Inbox and click on 'New' the pop up page that opens is just blank. You see the the 'opening your mailbox' picture and blue line for a split second and then the page is just blank. It won't allow users to create new emails and it also does the same when double clicking on a new email to read the content. Some users are on 8.1 and 7 and the browser version is 11. If we use Google Chrome or Firefox then we have no issues at all. If you change the reading pane to 'Type in reading pane' then everything works fine. Has anyone got any ideas? Screenshot attached Thanks, Jonny

I don't know if it's related but are you having any users who can't compose a new email in outlook web mail?A few users here click 'new' and the box that opens is just blank.

This is a known issue according to their service status page. Just in case you haven't seen it yet.

Good Morning Everyone, We moved over to SIMS during summer and introduced a new behaviour system which is used in the Academy Trust we are looking to join. Once a week staff have a "Positive Discipline Hour" where they meet up with their form and enter all Positive/Negative comments from their planners onto SIMS in the behavior management section. During this hour teachers have problems with SIMS crashing and closing numerous times. We have had lengthy discussions with our SIMS support provider who have also had discussions with Capita and they have been told that it's because so many people are saving changes into the database at the same time and it's creating large transaction logs. A couple of patches have also been applied but it doesn't seem to have made much difference. I spoke with the Infrastructure manager from the other Academies and he has said that they too have have similar issues however a member of our SLT has spoken to the Data Manager there and they said they don't? The pressure has been ramped up by SLT to try and find a solution to this but other than splitting up the PD Hour (which i'm told is not possible) i'm not sure what else we can do. SIMS seems to run absolutely fine for the rest of the week so what they have told me makes perfect sense. Does anybody else run a similar system and have problems or have they experienced similar issues in the past? If so have you managed to find a fix or a way round it? The server is brand new so i'm quite happy that it's not that, we do run a lot of laptops which connect over WiFi but it's never caused a problem in the past. Any advise would be much appreciated. Jonny

That's the one. Exactly the same issue as me.

Just out of curiosity do you get lot's of temp profiles in c:\users ? We are having a similar issue and I'm having problems with temp profiles. Think it's related to the profile but haven't had chance to fully look into it yet.

Does anyone happen to know where the template is for the e-mail that goes out to parents when inviting them to use the app? I'm trying to change the school name in the email as it is wrong but it's showing correctly in SIMS school details. I've logged a call with our support provider who are also struggling to find it.

Thanks Phil will do.

Hi everyone, I am currently going through final stages of testing the SIMS parent app. One of our members of staff also happens to be a parent so she is kindly testing it out for me. One small problem I am having is that the attendance figures shown only seem to go back to the date I managed to setup the parent app service rather than going back to the start of the school term but all the school weeks are showing in the app. If you click on a register mark for one of the previous weeks it just says unavailable. Is there a way to configure the dates for attendance going out of SIMS ? Thanks, Jonny

for anyone who comes across this error, the fix is to change the start date for the address to be before the students leaving date.

Hi All, we are having trouble clearing a particular error in the dummy census report. The error is as follows: Error 2341 Postcode is missing or invalid for an off roll pupil for whom learning aims data are being submitted. I've checked the postcode information and it's all fine for the students and their addresses are validated so i'm thinking that it must be something to do with the Learning Aims. If the student has left do we need to submit learning aims and if not how do we go about removing them for the students who have left? any help much appreciated, Jonny
-
Try this - I brought the pupil back on roll and added the National Curriculum year in and back dated it.

I have this error too. Have had to refer it onto our support team. I have this one: Error 2341 Postcode is missing or invalid for an off roll pupil for whom learning aims data are being submitted. When I go into the students (who have left)the address looks fine and is validated.

Hi everyone, we've just gone live with SIMS and intouch and I was wondering if there was a way to setup the email part of intouch to BCC the emails it sends out? I thought this would happen by default but i've just sent a couple of test emails and it doesn't seem to hide the addresses. Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Jonny

Having a strange issue with one user missing lots of emails in the sent items folder. message trace is showing them being delivered ok though. Just vanished.

On a similar theme some pubs near us allow you to put your debit card into a draw and open a tab and they give you a key. You then go back at the end of the meal to pay your tab and they take your credit card out using that key to pay for the meal.

haha I just tried the same thing.

For anyone who uses FROG for home access to network drives, it breaks the connection through to the file servers where drives are stored.

Server Patching - Schedules & Automatic Reboots
jonnykewell1 replied to CyBeRkId2002's topic in How do you do....it?
I'm going through all my servers at the minute, We don't set them to automatically update just notify when updates are ready. All point back to our WSUS server via group policy. Looking at restarting a few over the weekend to bring them up to speed. -
I like that. Storage is something we have plenty of so I'll look at that thanks.
