Hi all On SIMS Admin, I'm trying to unregister a parent. Even though it says 'successfully unregistered', they don't actually unregister as they're still in the 'unregister' list, not the 'register' list. Have emailed the parent and apparently they used Parent App in a previous school, so wondering if they're account is linked with another school still? Any ideas?

Hi All, We are currently in the process of looking at an app that would tie in Text Messaging/Push Notifications, Payments, Social Media, student reporting etc and have recently been looking into Weduc? I know there are others out there and we have have had a few demo's from different companies, was just wondering if anyone else currently is and uses Weduc and how have you found it to be? Are parents on board and happy with the app? Thoughts?

School has taken on SIMS Parent App, initially to allow electronic reports to replace paper, printing and postage. I'd like to try a few test runs to see how it works. Couple of early difficulties. 1. On the admin page there are references to patches that are need. I click on the links and SQL files are downloaded - I am not sure how to apply these patches. 2. Because I want to give parents access to "Individual Reports" I assume it is the Reports section that I give access to these - but how do I assign the reports to make them available? I have looked at the assessment tab and there is a section for making marksheets available but I don't seem to be able to add any marksheets - maybe this is because the patch is not applied yet? 3. Is the report made available by clicking the upload button on SIMS in the Individual Report section? 4. I would like to try at least one student per year group to see how the parent app will work for them - but I am not sure of an easy way to do this. We have a couple of staff members who have children in some of the year groups so I suppose I could ask them to let me use their registration codes etc to access the app - but what about the other year groups - do I have to ask a parent for some temporary access or is there an easy way as an administrator to do these checks? These are probably very simple questions - but I have only had access to the program from this afternoon.

So, having sent out our first set of reports using the SIMS Parent App, I am now looking at how else I might be able to use it. I see that I can send a message to the parent(s) of groups or individual children, but I am wondering how I might send attachments with such messages. At first glance I can see that this might be possible by using the homework option - but that is not really what I want to do. Say for example if I want to send out a .pdf attachment with an exam timetable. Is SIMS Parent App able to do this?

Hi everyone, I am currently going through final stages of testing the SIMS parent app. One of our members of staff also happens to be a parent so she is kindly testing it out for me. One small problem I am having is that the attendance figures shown only seem to go back to the date I managed to setup the parent app service rather than going back to the start of the school term but all the school weeks are showing in the app. If you click on a register mark for one of the previous weeks it just says unavailable. Is there a way to configure the dates for attendance going out of SIMS ? Thanks, Jonny

Looking for a rewards and behaviour platform which is cheap/free, ideally can be used on phones by teachers to make it easy to award points in lessons which can feedback to pupils and parents. we have no money but have SIMS so would it be worth paying a bit extra to get these apps?. How much are the parent and teacher apps as I have no idea if they are a few £'s or £500, do you pay per pupil, or teacher or parent? Do google offer anything? I've set up classrooms but I don't find them particularly user friendly and I need a reward point management system. I need some prices and ideas to present to my SLT after half term. Thanks in advance for your help
