  1. I had too much of this and felt sick :-( I got a torch from a company called copylogic stress balls + bottle opener from Smoothwall Purple stress cat from Softcat Edugeek Lanyard and bottle opener :-) Lots of pens..... Nothing massively exciting really
  2. Hi Witch, We used this at my last school, I seem to remember it was very good and did what you've described. Software was called Read/Write Gold v10, see link below. Welcome to Texthelp - Accessibility Software for those with Dyslexia, literacy difficulties and English as a Second Language Just spoke to a friend of mine who is the SENCO at my last school who has sent me the link below to a video that shows some of the features of read/write, may be of some use to you. http://www.gdmorewood.com/page-ebook-%26-film-3.html
  3. Sorry, only just picked up your reply :-( The really daft thing is, after it threw snow down on Friday night it's rained ever since and you wouldn't think it had snowed at all.
  4. Weighed in again on Friday....another 1.1Kg off :-)....2.6Kg total loss so far :-) I have had takeaway pizza though on Friday night for step-daughters birthday......plus it's BETT this week......I'll aim to keep the damage to a minimum this week :-)
  5. Check out the Ergo Secure Desk......very nice :-)
  6. Quite a list this year i think..... Edugeek Web Filtering Ergo Casio – Lampless projectors Micro-Librarian – Migration of Eclipse to a virtual server Classroom Management Smart Technologies – New Software, new technology? Administration of Ipad’s/Imacs Adobe – Changes to licensing structure in April? Costs? Upgrade options? Plus trying to get as many mugs as I can :-) (other freebies are accepted, but for me mugs are the holy grail at BETT)
  7. I'm about 5 miles from Macc (Poynton), it's bitterly cold at this point.....forecasting heavy snow for tonight (and it's had some light snow here already). Supposed to be slightly warmer tomorrow with a lot of rain. Snow/Ice from earlier in the week hasn't thawed completely at the Wife's school which is in Macc. Hope this is of some use :-)
  8. Second week back in (weigh in last Friday).........and I'd lost 1.5kg :-) Very pleased, particularly after putting on the week before.
  9. With the exception of a handful of machines (which are windows 7) we are XP across the school (approx 850 PC's). We're looking at switching to Windows 7 in the summer, but by my reckoning we've got 160 PC's which will not cope with it.....not sure where the money is coming from to replace those, so I think we'll be mixed for a fair while. We're also a Server 2003 school as well, but plans are in place to completely replace the server infrastructure this summer, this is being made the priority ahead of the PC's at this point.
  10. I went for my Honeymoon in April last year.....to me it's the most amazing place on the planet...I loved every second of it and I'd go back again tomorrow if I could. We did the NYC pass, and it suited us well, like as has been said by DavidIrwin, it does mean you have to be a little bit more organised but it was well worth it for us :-)
  11. Well after three trips to the gym last week and 2 games of football, plus reducing intake.....I put on 1.2kg last week! Wasn't impressed, but I have kept to not drinking (although it was very tempting to hit the wine)....going to do the gym tonight and hopefully get my body kickstarted into doing some weight loss!!
  12. I've completely mis-read those warnings as "Early warning of yellow snow" :-)
  13. Buy Mens Over Web Gore-Tex Gloves by Spyder
  14. Like many, I'm back on this again for the new year. Managed to get myself down to 3 stone below my heaviest ever weight ready for my wedding last April, and have gone back up about a stone since then, so I've started working on getting it back off again. Although not doing Dryathlon as such, I have given up alcohol for January to see what happens. The reduction in calorie intake has to be beneficial. I'm back in the gym, 3 times a week and playing football twice a week as well. Just need to sort out my snacking habits and the weight should fall off :-) Weighed in yesterday (although my normal official weigh in is a friday morning with the School Nurse) and I came in at 19 stone 13lb's......time to get to work :-)
  15. I take it back, it's actually these I've got in Black with White detail Overweb Gore Tex® | Men's Accessories | Products | Spyder they are stupidly expensive, but brilliant quality.
  16. I've got a pair a bit like these (from a few years ago).... SPYDER Crucial Gore-Tex Ski Gloves - Men's Black Large - The Ski Shop UK They're my second pair of Spyder gloves.....no they aren't the cheapest, but they've very very warm and flexible.
  17. Done :-)
  18. 2 Step Children for me.. Boy - 13 Girl - 10 going on 16
  19. Morning all, I'm having a weird issue with our staff accessing Wordle (Wordle - Beautiful Word Clouds) and I'm pulling my hair out a bit now. Essentially, as an administrator I can access and use Wordle perfectly, however our teaching staff are unable to. We use Bloxx for our filtering, and I've added all the addresses I can find into it to allow staff access however I'm still having problems. Java is the most up to date version. The error I get is as per the attached screenshot. Any help anyone can provide will be gratefully received. Thanks Iain
  20. I know exactly how you feel, I was in a similar position at the start of the summer and was seriously looking at alternative careers. I've now switched schools, and am enjoying it much more again.....the change of scenery has really done wonders for me :-)
  21. I'm at a similar position at the moment, step son doesn't believe......step daughter is in the camp of "I'd best believe just in case"......years ago, their Grandad played the role of Santa in the local garden centre......both of them spent ages sat on his knee and they had no idea who he was.....it did help reinforce the idea that Santa is real though when he called them both by their first names without having to ask :-)
  22. Ahhhh I see you've met him then :-)
  23. You should meet the headteacher of my stepdaughter's primary school......if he had his way, as soon as the children arrive at his school they'd be told that Santa isn't real.....thankfully his staff put enough pressure on him so he still has to allow christmas parties with Santa.
  24. I have :-)
  25. I've got a cooker, tv, 2 x blu-ray players, dishwasher, home audio system, kettle & toaster due to be delivered tomorrow.....even though I know I'm covered for items over £100, I still stand to lose £200 if it all goes wrong :-(
