I think the biggest savings we tend to make is on the renewal of our Microsoft licensing and changing our broadband provider....could you look at either of these as well?

We did used to live in a bit of a broom cupboard, but were given new office space about 18 months ago. We now have an office (former IT Suite) and a Storeroom/workshop (also a former IT Suite). As a result, the office is relatively tidy most of the time, but the storeroom/workshop is where we shove the rubbish :-)

WeightWatchers weigh in last night.....a further 2lb's off :-) Total loss of 38lb's :-) Calculated my BMI earlier as well, and I'm pretty certain I'm the lowest BMI that I've ever been in my adult life (since I turned 18).

It's truly frightening....7 months have now passed since the birth of Alex and my hasn't he grown!!

Nice to see this thread re-born :-) Since I last posted, many months ago, and following the birth of our son (who is unbelievably 7 months old already!), the wife and I have been rejoined WeightWatchers and in the 4 months we've been going I've lost 36lb's in weight (2 Stone 8lb's). Just for those who are interested, my stats of before and after the weight loss are below. Before: Weight - 20 Stone 1lb Chest - 50" Waist - 46" Collar - 18" After Weight - 17 Stone 7lb Waist - 40" Chest - 44-46" Collar - 17" Not really doing any extra exercise, Gym once a week and football twice a week (although I will be adding a weekly round of golf in there sooner rather than later if the weather holds out), just sticking to the WeightWatchers plan and keeping a very close eye on what I'm eating. At this point I am loving being my new size and shape, I haven't been this weight since just after I left high school so I have hit many many milestones in the last 4 months (I am now over 4 stone lighter than the biggest I've ever been for example). It's allowing me to shop for clothes in shops I've never been able to before :-) edit - Should have added my starting BMI was 35.7 and is now currently 31.4....fighting towards being Overweight!!

Thanks both for coming back to me :-) @bossman I have already given that a go, but it didn't work. We have managed to solve this issue though...we were on the scavenge in our old 6th Form Centre and found another remote....tried it on the faulty projector and hey presto it worked :-)

Hi all, Very frustrating issue this one.... We have a Sanyo PCL-XE32 in one of our science rooms, and it has recently stopped working. Unfortunately it's proving very difficult to troubleshoot as this particular range of projectors has no control panel on the actual projector itself. Essentially the fault is that it won't turn on. There is a power light illuminated when it is connected to the mains, however the remote does not turn on the projector. We've done the obvious and changed the batteries in the remote, but no joy. Unfortunately, having read the manual, it is possible to activate a code on the remote and the projector which essentially means only that particular remote can be used on the projector, so we can't even use an alternate remote (although we have tried several just in case). Problem is, we can't narrow down where the fault actually lies. Any suggestions? Thanks Iain

£25k is the same as what we get (we also have a separate fund for toners)...we try and do the same and keep about £3k in reserve for emergencies (I think we've got about £1k of that remaining for this financial year)....out of that we have to replace our PC's.....as of July this year we will have 400 PC's out of warranty and over 5 years old (some PC's are 10 years old now). They are starting to die, and we've been told there is no additional funding to buy any more, so effectively we have to sit here and watch our network die.....looking forward to that.

Keen Golfer here :-) I've been playing getting on towards 10 years now (blimey is it really that long?!?), don't really have the time I'd like to devote to it but still try to play once a week during the summer. I'm a member here Davenport Golf Club and my current handicap is 23 (came down from 26 last year. I've got my first outing of the year this Saturday, so have come into work with the clubs in the car to hit the driving range so I don't look a complete idiot on Saturday :-)

It's not really something we "celebrate" as such. I tend to go for a card and a small token gift but nothing over the top. This year though, I'm taking the wife away for the night to Worcester.......however we are taking the baby and step daughter as step daughter has a cheerleading competition on the Saturday.

We're just starting to move in this direction. I've been generating twitter accounts for those departments that have requested one, so we now have approximately 10 accounts including a main school one and also one for the headteacher. They've started off relatively slowly in terms of use, but it has been picking up over the last few weeks.

Our office is in our old sixth form block, and is in a building completely separate to the rest of the school....we have considered locking ourselves in and barricading the doors :-)

I wasn't going this year anyway, the network manager and head of IT were though.....that has been cancelled.

Staying at school till 8 last night, then up at 5 with a teething 5 month old do not mix..... Best request so far is to fix a printer in one of the offices.....having looked into it, the network point the printer connects to isn't working as it's not patched in in the comms room....so therefore probably hasn't worked in 18 months (since the building was finished). Has it been reported before? Of course not :-) Thanks for the messages everyone :-)

Well at 12.15 this afternoon we got the call. Ofsted are in school tomorrow and Wednesday...

Can definitely relate to this....I play football on a Thursday night 10-11pm, get home and no matter what, I cannot sleep. Normally end up drifting off around 1 ish!

We had ours on the 4th December, in the main it was very good, turkey was excellent and the roast potatoes were nice and crunchy. My only issue was the carrots weren't cooked (they were warm, but didn't feel cooked). £2.10 for staff or students, decent sized plateful with a biscuit or mince pie dessert.

Mr Mrs bought me one of these for christmas last year :-) Star Wars Jedi Dressing Gown - buy at BoysStuff.co.uk Very comfortable, warm...only issue I've found is that the sleeves are a bit loose which makes it difficult when you're trying to cook bacon :-)
