Brundle tweeted about this. Apparently, the teams have to stay until 2020 to gain from the TV rights deal and other pieces...so if they pulled out, they wouldn't get the huge payout. Or some such...

Was gutted when I heard the news at the tail of last week. Only a week before I had made the decision to start reading the Discworld books again...probably due to National Book Week, and as part of the stuff going on at work, I had to nominate my favourite book. I chose Guards! Guards!. And so it is, I am halfway through The Colour of Magic and I want to read all 40 books

I don't find it that bad! Once up and running, it is a piece of cake to use

I'll be honest, the first time we set it up, it was a bit of a faff. Now, we have it running pretty damn smoothly. We have the administrator dashboard, and admin service installed on the Exam Officers machine, and the Invigilator Dashboard installed on the teacher machine at the front of the class. The test player is then, obviously, installed on the student machines in the room. The only small faff we have is when students are taking the tests, we step them through setting the connection to the Invigilator machine, as it does not automatically pick it up. I normally will do this loudly in the classroom and ensure that all students have connected. It is, for its hassles, actually a decent piece of exams software, and bar any students screwing up by exiting the software unnecessarily works pretty seamlessly

Haha, no problems. Obviously, I can't guarantee it is the same on your 5250's, or be held responsible for anything that goes wrong

I have watched the engineer do it on our 5350's. And it seemed relatively simple. Top cover, take all toners out, unclip the coloured plastic bits, and unscrew some screws which then releases the black cover tray to access the drum units etc. That's a very brief view, but the engineer does it in about 5 minutes flat, so picked it up!!

Even when the monitor is receiving a signal from the PC? You can't access the menu whilst in power save mode, so I just had to put the PC to sleep every time I wanted to test.

It was a menu setting for me. When I pressed the menu, the first OSM menu screen was blank with just a small F in a box. I pressed the 'enter' key on the monitor, and at the bottom there was something about reset. After I had done this, the issue stopped...however, I thought I had done this before. I had performed a factory reset on the monitor as well beforehand, but not sure if that made a difference! Quite vague I know...but something happened that resolved it!

SOLVED! I'm not sure how though....

Autosearch was set to Off. I have read the manual, and can't find any mention of what we are experiencing whatsoever! Cheers for your help though!

PC mode was selected. I changed it to Eco, but made no difference... If it helps, there is, what looks to be some sort of timer, on the screen whilst the colours flash away...

We have a lot of Hanns-G monitors on site, all the same model (HE225), however, on some of the monitors, if they are receiving no input, they decide to do a really annoying power save mode whereby it likes to do a presentation of the various colours on the screen, and doesn't stop (unless the power cable is pulled out). On other monitors, where the monitor settings are exactly the same, the screen is just black, and stays that way until the PC is turned on or woken up. It isn't the most subtle power save mode in the world at night, when the machines are off, so does anyone know what is causing it, and how to remedy it?!
