  1. As a fan I'm really looking forward to this, I still love digging out the old DVD's of the first series and watching them over and over as I still find them hilarious (Quarantine with Arnold Rimmer and Mr Flibble still has me rolling about laughing). Back to reality was poor, although it did have a couple of moments which were amusing. I really hope this is going to be as good as people are suggesting. "What's that Mr Flibble? We can't possibly do that.....who'd clear up the mess?" :-)
  2. I'm in all the way through till Friday, but then off till the 3rd :-) 10 days off though, I can't wait :-)
  3. 1. IT Crowd on DVD 2. It's been stupidly cheap, so I'm hopeful :-)
  4. Gutted mate, I know how much you wanted that patch lead :-( I actually like receiving the sharpie pens from you guys, they go straight in the golf bag as they're perfect for marking golf scores down with on competition day :-)
  5. How dare you! I'll have you know I have not spat my dummy out and gone back to Argentina :-)
  6. Look what we've had in school today :-)
  7. We're fairly similar, we are Head > ICT Co-Ord (Assist Head) > NM > Assist NM > Tech
  8. Thanks again so much for all your replies, it's all been very useful. Interview 1 done.
  9. Thanks everyone for your input thus far, it is appreciated.
  10. Morning all, I'm after some pointers. I've got two interviews coming up at private schools and could do with a bit of assistance as I've got extremely limited experience of dealing with private schools. I've done enough interviews now to know what kind of general things to expect, but is there anything specific to private schools that I should be aware of? Any tips/pointers/advice anyone can give me will be gratefully received. Thanks Iain
  11. I'm not quite so sure, I think the semi final draw is the one all neutrals will have wanted but I have to admit I wanted one of the championship clubs as Liverpool is not easy. Fingers crossed though, after only reaching one cup final in my lifetime thus far, the chance to go to another would be amazing :-)
  12. As a Manchester City fan I really enjoyed this......I'm sure Bandgeekmafia did as well :-)
  13. Unfortunately I'm going to need an Apple official back for it. The main home button on the iphone has also got a fault (it's been bad for months prior to me dropping the phone) and I'm hoping that by replacing the back I should be able to take it back and have the phone replaced (my brother's iphone 4 did the same thing and they swapped his no questions asked). So any sites that supply the official one would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Afternoon all, Like a complete numpty, I recently dropped my iphone onto the road and sure enough I've shattered the glass on the back of it :-( Having looked around, it's very easy to do the repair, you just need to buy the replacement part. Has anyone done this themselves? Any recommendations as to where I might buy the replacement back? Thanks in advance Iain
  15. Similar here to most I think, we're shut to pupils open to those staff who aren't striking.
  16. Signed off for two weeks! I had one of my bottom ones out under general last year (I think I was given wo days off, one for recovery one for the op). Like everyone else has said, I was very groggy for the first day or so. I also found that the pain killers they'd prescribed me were giving me headaches, so I stopped taking them as quickly as I could. With the actual removal of th etooth, I had no problems afterwards, but make sure you follow the advice given to you about swilling it out with salt water and using gauze etc.
  17. We limit staff to 15GB here, but once they fill that they just put stuff onto the shared areas instead :-(
  18. I used a company called Matrix for a hall AV installation I did a few years back, they did a very good job.
  19. We've just booked the travelodge at Marylebone, it was stupidly cheap at around £130 for two nights (twin room).
  20. I applied for this when it was first advertised and pulled out prior to interview (nothing wrong with the job itself or the place) just wasn't the move I was looking to make at this point in my career. I spent quite some time talking to the guy who would be the line manager of the role, so if anyone has any questions I might be able to answer them, please send in PM (although it's well worth talking to them directly).
  21. Agree entirely, Daniel Craig is an excellent Bond and Casino Royale was brilliant, and I was very excited going to see Quantum only to be massively let down.
  22. Please let it be better than Quantum of Solace
  23. I've had one or two interesting discoveries in PC's Alongside the half eaten food items, general rubbish pens and pencils, we've also found condom's (thankfully not used) and in one printer we have had a mouse making itself a nest. Recently I was in reprographics when all of a sudden we heard a mobile phone start ringing....we looked all round for it and couldn't find it anywhere. Turned out it was buried in one of the Photocopiers and the engineer who'd just left site having repaired said photocopier had accidentally left it inside. My favourite though is where one of our Science Teachers found a snake sat in the science room printer...apparently he screamed a very high pitched scream and ran :-)
  24. That's amazing!
  25. Where I live unless you have a pumpkin in your window people don't bother you (at least in the main this is what happens). It allows those who want to be involved to do so, and those that don't want bothering can be left in peace. Seems to work pretty well. Having said that, last night we only had visits from kids whose parents we know (so only about 2/3 knocks at the door) although we do live at the end of the Close and our house is mainly obscured and we'd been out trick or treating ourselves :-) I do agree that there should be an age cut off for it (I'd probably say when they go to secondary school), as it can be quite intimidating to have a group of teenagers turn up on your doorstep. Is it really begging though? Or is it more like organised blackmail (If you don't give us something nice we'll do something nasty to you)?
