I'm not that bothered on the method to be honest...... I'e looked at pop3, imap and exchange activsync and I haven't been able to get any of them to work.

Afternoon all, Wasn't sure where to put this, but here goes. I want to set up our Exchange box (Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2008) to allow some of our more mobile users access to their email through a portable device, smartphone/tablet etc (we do already have OWA in place, however I want to give them an easier experience). I've done some googling but don't seem to be making much progress. Anyone got a link to a decent guide on how to achieve this? Thanks in advance Iain

Phew, what a mouthful :-) Ok, hopefully the title explains what I'm looking to achieve? Essentially, the little darlings are storing inappropriate material within password protected files.....anyone got any advice on how I can prevent from doing this? Given that on one of the ICT courses they are taught how to password protect a document, removing the ability to do this isn't an option (even if it is possible), so I guess I need to find a way of preventing files that have been password protected being saved to a specific area on the network (I guess using File Server Resource Manager, but I've not found a way as yet). Hope this makes sense. Iain

I used to get called Neo at my last school due to the fact that I could normally be seen wandering round school wearing a 3/4 length leather jacket (although *pedantic hat on* Neo never actually wears a leather jacket in the Matrix), but I quite liked this.....was much better than the few kids who called me Peter Kay

Hi, I've installed this today. From their website, you can download an msi which I then deployed through Group Policy.....worked like a charm :-)

Thanks again Steve, I've already enabled this policy, and it does set the picture once the user is logged on. It's when the computer initially boots up (before the user has logged on) where I'm trying to set the picture to appear. Google has proved very fruitful, so I'm thinking I am going to have to just position it.

Sadly I'd guessed this was the way to do it :-( was hoping for a GPO option, but nevermind :-(

Morning all, Not really a critical one this, but just something I'd like to do really whilst I'm playing around with our Group Policies. When a Windows 7 Enterprise (SP1) PC boots up and it gets to the login screen, after pressing CTRL, ALT, DEL, there is a frame just about where the user enters their username and password. I would like to put a picture in there that is the same for all users. Once the user has logged on, I have set the default profile picture (that appears at the start of the start menu and then appears in that box when the user locks their machine), but I don't seem to be able to do it at the initial logon screen. I'm pretty sure it's possible as I've seen it done somewhere else. Any ideas?

Just V Festival in Stafford for me this year at this point, did quite fancy kendal calling but they'd sold out of Campervan tickets by the time I got round to looking at tickets. If you need to do a bit of picking and choosing on your acts, then I can't recommend Maximo Park highly enough. One of my favourite bands, I think I've seen them live 14/15 times and each time they've been amazing (we won't mention Paul Smith's solo career though......).

I'm currently in NYC :-) Just about to start day 4. So far highlight, for me, has been empire state building, closely followed by strolling round central park. Going to see Statue of Liberty today and doing a boat tour as well as going up the Rockefeller Centre :-) Although seeing The Muppets, Sesame Street and The Fraggles at Carnegie Hall was pretty cool as well :-)

You mean mine won't work without a power lead or a network cable plugged in!! Thank god for that, I've been pulling my hair out over this one :-)

Well it's still coming off, weighed myself last night and I'm now down to 19 stone 3 lb's so another half a stone off this year which puts me down by 1 1/2 stone (21lb's). The new target of being in the 18's by the wedding is well within reach :-) If I had a little bit longer to go, then I would have gone for a wedding weight of 18 stone 10 lb's so I would have been 3 stone lighter than I was when me and the Mrs got together, but sadly I think it's a bit late to reach that. But anyway, 10 days till wedding, 4lb's to lose........

JD Sports are selling the United shirt for £24.99 ( I guess they're abut to release their 17th kit in the last 3 seasons hence the price reduction). I would imagine the whole kit would have similar discounts on it.

They've also told me that they don't support saving files across a network.......what use is this to me?

Morning all, We're experiencing a number of problems with our Adobe CS5 installation, particularly Flash Professional. 1. Unexpected File Format - Increasingly regularly students are seeing this message when they try to open a file. Doesn't matter how or when the file was created. 2. We've recently upgraded the version to 11.0.2.489, and since then we also get errors relating to missing fonts. This is fixable, in that we have to open the file on a non upgraded PC, change the fonts to something generic and then the user can then open the file and open the files on the upgraded PC's. This is very laborious, and we didn't have any special fonts installed on the machines in the first place, just whatever came with Flash/Windows in the first place. 3. Since the upgrade, we now find that students cannot publish their flash files to html or to a flash movie. Flash Professional hangs on them and then crashes out. I've spoken to Adobe and the first person I spoke to could only suggest we pay an additional £5000 to upgrade to the latest release. The second person I spoke to refused to speak to me unless I paid a fee for support. Anyone come across any of these problems? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
