I hope someone can help me here, because I'm stumped, and it's getting really annoying. Outlook's performance to Office 365 is intermittently atrocious. As in, click to the calendar and it'll freeze for a couple of minutes and pop up a balloon about "Exchange is experiencing connectivity issues". It's not the filter. Happens when I turn the proxy off. It's not the firewall. We've changed firewall in the last few months and it's still doing it. Outlook is up to date and has the online services sign in assistant installed. Anyone got any clues at all? The Exchange Connection Status shows failed requests but I've no idea why. So very frustrated with it

I think it says a lot about Yahoo's fortunes that their big plan at the moment is spinning off the 15% stake they have in AliBaba because that's worth so much more than their actual business. Current twist: instead of spinning off the stake from Yahoo, they're going to spin off the internet business, because that's worth so much less that the tax implications for investors are cheaper. After last month's shambles (and others earlier this year), this morning is the first Exploit Wednesday in about 4 years I've not immediately pushed out updates to our test area--i.e. our office. And bloomin' glad I am now too! EDIT: I like that the very first improvement and fix listed is "Adds administrative support to prevent Outlook 2010 from booting into safe mode." Ergo you'd think they'd test safe mode as part of their QA process and maybe catch the problem...

Just redoing it now, as it happens, though doing it via OU not group. Tried GPP but it only worked 98% of the time, and that 2% adds up a lot over 500+ PCs over 5 periods (especially as it included GP refreshes). VBScript has been much more reliable. Having to switch from logon script to Run this program at logon to speed up login times though. New HP printers are lovely, but drivers are chunky!

The driver was being a numpty. He could easily have moved over out of the way once it was clear the lorry was cutting in, and he could easily have moved out of the way before that when he was being flashed (better to have that sort of idiot in front of you where you can account for them than behind you where they're a danger). But none of that excuses the lorry driver deliberately trying to cause an accident and injure/kill the other driver out of some petty sense of revenge or "teaching him a lesson".

I figured that was to try and prompt him into a specific confession or, as you say, torture him some more. We still don't know who set the castle up, after all. It could be the Time Lords, but it could be Missy, it could still be himself. Actually looking forward to finding out, which is the first time in two or three seasons I've been looking forward to Doctor Who. I really want to like Capaldi's Doctor, and I don't know if it's the scripts or the companion but he's still not clicked for me. Matt Smith + Amy & Rory is still the best of new Who for me.

I hate to be that guy, except clearly I don't because I wouldn't say anything if I didn't hate it, but... it was obviously the Doctor's hand pulling the lever at the beginning. To be fair, I had it figured as a closed time loop rather than rebooting from the teleporter HDD, and at one point I was loudly declaring it was a trap he had set for himself, to force himself to face some truths after Clara's death (although it was luring him into the trap that caused Clara's death, but Who isn't normally bothered about plot holes like that), but it wasn't a huge revelation that he was basically going round in circles. As I saw elsewhere (io9, I think): having spent two billion years keeping the secret of the hybrid, why, when he finally escapes, are virtually his first words "the secret is that I'm the hybrid"?

JS snow fall is nasty on the CPU. I redid a CSS version that works in IE, attached. It's really not the most elegant of code, but it does work. Bonus: there's a 5% chance of Santa flying across your screen as well.XMAS.zip

I think I enjoyed it because it was just Peter Capaldi getting to be a good actor without Useless Whatsherface dragging the episode down. Never liked Clara. On the flipside, though, all I could think all along was that the Doctor and I share the same idea of Hell: trapped in a 90's CD-ROM adventure game, dying to the same boss over and over again, going round in circles and repeating the same actions in the hopes of stumbling upon a switch you must have missed last time. Two points about the Uberdiamond wall: 1) Why did he punch out a nice little arch? He really didn't need to make it that high. An awkward little tunnel just big enough to wriggle through would have saved him millions of years. 2) It'd have been annoying if that room had reset the same way the others did, wouldn't it?

Cheap TVs from supermarkets are, in my experience, always horrible horrible double horrible. Using the interface on them is usually somewhere around the pulling-teeth level of the agony scale, and the picture is rubbish. Always stick to proper brands - LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony.

Eh, probably. I have a habit of incrementally bumping elements up in size and ending up with them being far too big (I'd done the same with the text sizes as well). I might rein it in a bit later. Just trying to load the main page? Working for me from here. It's all on Vidahost so I'd hope it'd be running alright!
