Yes. Absolutely. Depending on the level 3 switch you have as your core router, you need to configure your DHCP relays. All this is for Comware (i.e. 3COM, HP5800/5100 switches). Core config: dhcp relay server-group 1 ip 192.168.1.1 dhcp relay server-group 1 ip 192.168.1.2 where the IPs are the addresses of your DHCP servers. Then on each VLAN interface Vlan-interface2 description Cab2 Workstations ip address 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0 dhcp select relay dhcp relay server-select 1 The IP address there is the default gateway for that VLAN followed by the netmask. Description is whatever you want. The last two lines tell the switch that addresses are assigned by DHCP, and to forward DHCP requests to relay server group 1 - which you set up above. Then on your DHCP servers, just set up the ranges - e.g. Cab2 VLAN, start 192.168.2.10, end 192.168.2.255, 255.255.255.0 mask, default gateway 192.168.2.1, and any other options as required. When the switch passes the DHCP request along, the server will know what range it came from and assign an IP as relevant. I normally start my DHCP ranges at .10 so there's a handful of addresses available for static assignments.

Had a great view of the UK Paper Plane Championships on Saturday night: The players on the field must have been so confused as to why they were getting cheered at completely random points; little did they know we were all cheering a paper plane made from an England flag successfully making it to the pitch. Best I saw was from the South Stand (where I was sat) making it all the way to the entrance tunnel at the halfway line. Second half was a bit better, but in the main I'm actually quite annoyed I missed two of the best games of the tournament in SCOvSAM and AUSvWAL in travelling up to Manchester. Organisation in the stadium was terrible as well--Park and Ride was overwhelmed and they had to announce that travel was free, because the queue for the two ticket machines was so huge. Queue for the bag check was about 10,000 people big (not kidding). And the bar! With 50,000 people at a rugby game you could basically sell beer as fast as you could serve it, but they had no idea what they were doing. One of my friends went to the bar ten minutes before half time, and didn't make it back until fifteen minutes into the second half. 45 minutes to get a round in! For you: migration from 2013 is about as straightforward as migration can be; I had to do it from 2007, and to be honest even that wasn't too bad. Office365 and your install of Office applications aren't really related, to be honest. Office 2010 is licensed through EES for us, we've just carried on using that; 365 is only used for Exchange Online.

They can be handy, though; some places want emails from an email ending .sch.uk or .ac.uk to prove you're in education. We still use our .sch.uk as our primary address, but have a .org set up identically and set as a proxy address for everyone in Office365. Best of both worlds, the only downside is having to use the long address to log in to Webmail the first time (when you click Remember Me to save yourself the trouble in future).
