Anybody else using Smart 11.4 with PowerPoint 2016 on Win7x64, we moved over in the summer to 2016 and now having issues where the PowerPoint only recognises the pen when in edit mode, and not in presentation mode. Found 1 article on Smart which looked similar to do with folder redirection causing this issue. But even logging on as the local admin has the same issue, so don't think it's that causing it. Anybody have any fixes I could try? Thanks

Don't think there is a Profile reset option I've seen. Does logging back in and changing back the language not work?

We've has a couple Genee Screens from Interactive Education which seem to be pretty durable. Usual toughened glass etc if that's what your after and metal casing, they were about £1800 installed. Also had an email from Laptop House for these Avocor | Avocor V-Series Interactive Display - that was £1500 with 5yr guarantee. Never heard of the brand though, but again say they're durable? Could be an option.

For info got a response from Google. I think I'd been missing the Force re-enrollment part. "One important thing to keep in mind is if you're planning to replace the devices you're deprovisioning with the same model devices. If you're simply retiring the old devices and plan to purchase different model devices as replacement, you'll have to purchase new licenses with them. If you're planning to purchase the same model devices, you can re-use the licenses and in order to be able to do this, you have to select "Same model replacement" when deprovisioning the old units. More about the different deprovisioning reasons you can see in the following Help Center article https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/3523633?hl=en Also, once you deprovision the devices, you may need to wipe them in order to completely free them from the enrollment. Anybody help confirm what I'm doing is correct. Our 6th form can buy Chromebooks through us for the year, we put them on the google management and all is well for the year/s they're here. Come them leaving, I deprovision them in the system (retiring them from fleet option) so they can use them at Uni etc. Is there anything else I need to be telling them to do, should I be informing them they need to do a factory reset/wipe on them to clear any lingering policies? We use our cashless catering system for printing catering badges, but for bus passes (has a design showing which bus they're allow on and what times) we're also using Indesign as you can use a CSV file mail merge to create many different designs from one CSV file.

We were quoted £1000 pa, which is £500 a year cheaper than MLS. I do agree with you though, I think our librarian would like a non-web version as the kids never use the online part anyway, but then maybe that's been down the the speed of MLS.

Complained about the speed, so they offered it being moved to a different hosted Azure server, sadly seems slower now. They're coming to do a remote session, but I'd love to see how fast it runs at MLS HQ. Just been looking at https://accessitlibrary.com/ seems a nice fast system, anybody else seen/heard of it? They'll even move the MLS across. We're stuck with MLS until Feb, so just seeing if worth writing off these last few months and just shifting during the holidays.

Currently with Impero, looking at Netsupport and trialing it. Pretty impressed, couple things does the multiple clients that needs installing/setup cause any issues or once rolled out are people finding this ok? Need to push our Student Client, Teacher Client, Tech and then DNA software it seems. Impero is nice in the fact, one program for everything. Saw the post from Netsupport about the reasons why, and fair enough. Do wish that the DNA & Tech console were merged, do you mainly use the DNA console though? Teacher PCs in ICT suites are setup for us to only show the PCs in that room, so I believe this is done with GPOs in Netsupport, this work well in comparison to how Impero does it? Anybody know if it's wise to upgrade to V6.0.81 on Impero. Still running v5.4.38 which for us is stable, is it best to stick or twist? anybody using V6.0.81 and all ok? Apart from the bug ridden updates, Impero has worked well for us, just with all these extra features that Netsupport include - asset inventory to name one at a cheaper price its very tempting to do the switch!

Well nobody knows what happened to our Bat either, no further sightings. Since it was flying around and healthy they wouldn't come out to catch it. So left windows open and not seen it again.... Perhaps it was indeed the Ghost of Adam West!

Been a while, but I used to have a program on my Firestick called Firestarter (looks like it's AppStarter now - App Starter XDA ) which you could set to auto load any program, used it for launching kodi.

Awaiting them to turn up, but in the meantime got lights off and windows open now after looking at that advice. So hopefully just a stray one and not a roost in the ceiling.

Just had to clear out a classroom because we have a bat flying around in the main ICT room! It's now locked waiting for the relevant people, however, the room connects to my server room and it's gone into the ceiling... It better not be chewing things

I did, but only because noticed I'd disabled smb2 on that server and not smb1 . Renabled smb2 and it was back up and running ok. Not had any issues with our Smoothwall and SMB1 being disabled on DC..yet? Running NTLM auth.

Same here, librarian is just living with it. Tried to report speed issues a while back, got the antivirus/plugin usual response. Thought moving to HTML5 would speed it up, I think it's slower and more basic looking now. At least the silverlight one looked slightly more engaging. Now it's slow and very boring looking, not even bothering with the students using it now. Mainly paying for it's use on the Librarian's PC. Oliver too expensive to jump ship now, but if there's something better out there then let me know!

Afternoon, Since leaving the LEA (who used to do all this for us), we've now got a faulty fan on a switch - so HP sent out a replacement. Is it just a case of copying the config on the current one, using console cable and configure the new one then physically swap them? Or is there things I should be watching out for? It's the same make/model as the one being replaced (HP Procurve 2650) Gaz

Just been given this to look at by our business manager. Same thing crossed my mind, seems quite a gamble. Not sure how much these prices will go down in reality and quite a restrictive list of machines (guess it'd have though). Be interesting if anybody has used it and what price difference to the ceiling price there actually was.

Thanks, yeah it is a very basic setup no VLANs (which I want to implement) and no VOIP. And @Irritable Tech your right, we've barely ever needed to call support on them. One fail last year some time, and since procurve they replaced and just had to do the config. Had a couple PM's about local companies, who I've messaged about support. But probably should be something as you've all suggested and get an old switch and have play around really and take it from there. Cheers
