  1. Cheers for the links, looks like the way to go then
  2. Sounds fairly straightforward then, will have a look at that then. It'll save us some money moving and yes things like Outlook calendar sync and the Sharepoint group setups looks like it'll be a huge time save for us!
  3. Morning, Currently looking at moving from RM Unify to the Salamander solution, which does far and away offer a much more complete solution, but the only thing I'd be missing would be the way Unify does the SSO for our current staff & Students to both GSuite and o365 tenancies. Just wondering those who have Salamander or equivalents how do you do SSO? Before Unify we used the Google password sync so I assume we'd move back to that and a similar thing for 0365? Just thought I'd see if there was anything obvious or slicker I was missing. Cheers
  4. Clearing our the Server room and found 20 odd brand new HP original laptop batteries. Free if anybody can still make use of them? Part number : 408545-141 // HSTNN-IB28 Link listing compatible laptops: HP Compaq 408545-141 battery,4400mAh battery for HP Compaq 408545-141 laptop(6 cells,10.8V)
  5. Sorry to resurrect this thread, our Sharepoint tile is doing this was it anything you manage to sort in the end? Cheers
  6. If you don't mind me asking, what sort of price you getting these for installed? I've got a couple to do in the summer, but still trying to decide whether to go back to projectors (interactive ones) the last couple of 65" screens (Genee ones) the staff don't like the size or the software (They liked the software during the demos & training though!) So wondering for cost to go back to Projectors and give them an 80" image.
  7. Humm, my keyboard has a Scroll & Num lock
  8. We had something similar when we moved to O365, the Outlook client wasn't showing the shared folders. I turned off cached exchange mode on the users outlook profile and they all appeared.
  9. Dell Education site has 15% off certain laptops until end of today.... For 72 hours only, get 15% off select laptops & desktops with code SAVE15WORK. Offer ends May 23rd! lol e.g. i5-8250U/8GB/1TB/FHD Screen - £458 Sadley the HDD isn't SSD - SSD version is £600 - (you could change these yourself to SSD though for £30/40 per laptop?)
  10. Chromebooks a possible route? No need for office then, great battery, 200-300 per device. 6s Startup time. Or is there software needed that isn't web based?
  11. Morning, We've just migrated our exchange to o365 (RM Unify Federated) - Just had some issues setting up Outlook 2016 client. Had to manually remove the old Profile and recreate it which then now links to the 0365 one via autodiscovery. However, these settings don't seem to be roaming to the next classroom very reliably. Is there a roaming folder I need to add/remove from GPO that may be causing a setting not roaming or should I have the OST file create in homedrives rather than locally on the PC (This isn't roaming, 1gig ost file - so this may be the issue but nor do I want it to roam!) Or should I disable cached mailboxes entirely? Just wondering if there's any tips or best practices I could steal? Cheers
  12. Thanks again Steve and thanks @alfatec hope you're feeling better soon.
  13. Feel guilty asking for my name to be added to the list too, but not enough to not ask Really appreciate any help before our Summer migration.
  14. Everybody just get the following update email?
  15. We had the same issue, logged it as a call and had 3 updates from Support basically saying they couldn't do it either and ignored any chasing up of it.
  16. We've had a change of librarian just as our MLS contract was about to expire, tried to see if they'd switch to accessitlibrary.com (as was the plan with the previous Librarian) but they felt it would have been too much too soon, so they've ended up renewing with MLS and update to the Reading cloud.... Time will tell, don't know much about the reading cloud bit, whether it's on a different server/faster but it's still very slow now even with whitelisting sites on Smoothwall. Would love to have a video demo of how quick the system runs for them? How fast is it supposed to be.
  17. Would something like this do it? Not exactly flashy though! datapicker.xlsx
  18. Ahh thanks, hadn't realised you can do that, thought that was upcoming feature. Perhaps been reading out of date info. Cheers, will have a play and testing of which ones work! Cheers
  19. We've got Chromebook for the 6th form (They pay for them via a Parent leasing scheme but we have them in our google management) Currently Google Play store is disabled for them, but I've had requests if they can have Photoshop on the Chromebooks, as far as I'm aware this is only available via the Play store and it's a support Chromebook model. Just really wondering if there's anything I need to be wary of allowing them access to it? Am I opening Pandora's box letting students have access to it, or am I being too over cautious. Just worried about larger choice of VPN tools/Games etc But on the flip side, they'll have a much better number of educational tools at their disposal. Anybody else done it and had any issues? cheers
  20. In the middle of doing a 6th form Chromebook leasing scheme with them... had half of the Chromebooks delivered... Hoping the leasing company still has the money so can switch to a new supplier for the rest! Misco been great, was wondering yesterday morning though why I'd not heard from our account manager....
  21. Wanting to ditch Eclipse too, anybody using these guys? https://accessitlibrary.com/ Looks good on the site and comparative if not slightly cheaper price.
  22. Thanks, I think that's the way I'm doing it now too.... I'm currently doing the creating a GPO for each room and the Encrypting Security keys/Connectivity Service for each room bit of the GPO. Certainly a trickier config than Impero.
  23. Morning, just wondering on how you guys do deploy the Netsupport School part. We've got a trial so playing around with it. Got DNA deployed via GPO (Once figure out the ADM template & DNA.ini file bit) and that seems to be great. Now on to Tutor/Student how do you guys deploy & setup the School bit for Tutor & Student? Our Impero is setup so that when the Teacher PC loads up, it loads the room of PCs the teacher is in and not the whole school. To replicate this in Netupport, am I right in thinkin... I need to deploy just the Tutor console to the Teacher PC in the room, Student to the rest of them. Which then would mean I can't do a GPO software install as both Teacher & Student PCs are in the same Room OU (I'm assuming I use DNA for the software install manually choosing the right machines?) and then control access via the ADMX Templates? Or... is there another way I'm totally missing. Do you get the teachers to select the rooms when they launch Tutor? Spoken to support, who've sent me some tech docs but they're 5+ years old... So just before I go down that route just wanted to see if I'm heading the right way! Cheers
  24. Ah right, we're using 1.1.3 - I'll drop a message to support for the details to update. Thanks
  25. Have you got Impero? As we had this, whitelisted it in Impero and all was well again.
