Is it the binder for the software Microsoft used to do on a subscription for I cant remember the name of?

We have the reverse here all Chromebooks are Laptops. Which I suppose they are, but it makes understanding what they need difficult.

I can understand why you would want to provide your own keyboard, most people have quite a preference for a particular key feel and I would hate to do multiple hours typing even without my future hanging in the balance with a soggy feeling keyboard. Having said that I would tell the exam office about the request and my concerns regarding macros and make it their problem.

I amended a IT policy once to change the password policy to 16+ chars no complexity and no forced password resets. At the governors meeting following their approved of the the policy the governors all complained that their passwords where too long. Raid5 on HDDs is problematic with large disks, the unrecoverable bit error rate can be lower than the number of operations required to rebuild the array Raid10 and Raid6 put this off by reducing the number of operations required to rebuild the array. Whilst SSDs use a different technology the underlaying issues with the number of write cycles still exists and there is not a lot of experience in the use of large SSDs and Raid out there. there are papers saying that SSDs reduce the URE problem by up to 100 times and others that are less positive. Personally I would stick with the Raid10.

I was going to say this, we don't know what is in the course work. There will be totally uninteresting content such as maths problems but almost any thing creative can contain data that should not be retained without a reason. A line in the retention policy worked out with the DPO and the input of the exams office is required.

As I understand you have asked a supplier to quote you for a ground up replacement of provision if you haven't my next point is wrong. I would be concerned that after giving clear instructions to this potential new supplier, they are are asking for out of scope info rather than providing a quote or at least a series of options.

I used SchoolBase about 7 years ago in a private school, I liked it enough to get them to quote to replace SIMS at another school about 5 years ago but the school did not go ahead with the replacement after the first round of investigation. It was a solid system I feel it was better than SIMS but I don't believe that is a high bar but I last used it before the company changed hands.

I don't have the CDs I think I chucked them last August but I d have the CC4 Network Operations and reference manual still in cellophane and a hardly used RM tutor manual if you are interested.

I totally agree with this point, an individual member of staff who only uses one part of the MIS may find that the SIMS way was better or just that they where used to it. However, across the whole school I believe that there are a number of systems that are better than SIMS.

It will be worse, the new wallet providers will not be banks so they wont be regulated and the market will be tipped further in their favour.

I have worked at a couple of schools with this process but the finance departments really found it difficult to spot a shadow IT order. You have to persuade the Head and SBM that the problem is not that you will not install/support the service that was purchased with out your input but you might not be able to do so. I always tell a horror story about an expensive piece of Mac software that was purchased for a PC network and could not be returned. but it is very easy to be seen as "blocking" In the end it is a management problem not a technical one.

It does prevent the heating of the wall directly but the wall is still cold so will sink heat from the room and internal walls can be excellent heat reservoirs when the heating goes off once heated. Basically YMMV so testing is recommended.

I ran into this problem and to be honest gave up, Teams that last for more than one year are not really achievable with School Data Sync. Some staff had another issue with classes that last less than a year such as DT carousel groups so in the end we used SDS to create Teams but staff who wanted Teams to last more or less than a year created their own.

I have heard of Pizza places using a doughball to replace this functionality.
