That's not a very convincing argument - setting up security and producing reports within CMIS are made much more complicated by not having proper documentation on what data is held where and why. The structure isn't a secret - we can just have a look at it - and security through obfuscation is no security at all - just an irritation to your paying customers...imho...

Couldn't agree more - other countries have a service - we have some awful, badly thought-through "partnership" (how that word grates). And it doesn't seem as if any lessons have been learned from the mess that we're currently in. I haven't heard a major politician calling for banks rules to be tightened up significantly, and we are seeing the fruits of allowing all our industry and infrastructure to be owned by foreign concerns - where it is politically easier for them to close units here than in their home country. The ongoing pressure to break up the Post Office and Royal Mail systems will be another disaster - no commercial firm will want to offer a fixed price delivery all over the UK - just the population centres, thank you very much. At least in the past there was a consensus (often observed in the breach) that services should be run for the public good - now its to be run for the convenience of the suppliers (see BSF, PFI, railways, BT et al)

Nightmare - company I used to work for had offices in the Rotunda in Brum - and it was terrible - no standard furniture would fit properly and trying to do trunking runs on a curved wall is a hell all of its own. *&%*&(% architects!

Sorry - DB - only just noticed this port - NetOp - just didn't work properly - it was flaky from day one and kids swiftly discovered that pulling the network cable out for a little while during the login disabled most of the restrictions. We spent untold hours of technician time with it and with their support - but (for us at least) it just didn't work. Whereas ABTutor just did - hardly any support calls and easier for the teachers to use too - and lots of nice features.

My wife (who works in a "nice" school now, but has worked at horrible ones in the past) just laughed when she heard that on the radio - no amount of cash was worth the aggro in her opinion.

The emails are probably too big and are waiting at the sorting office for you to pay an additional 6p and a £1 handling charge

Restriction policies don't affect command.com either - which was a problem for us - as several old programs used a call to it - in the end we had to stop the use of the old programs so that coomand.com could be got rid of.

They tried to deliver a TV to me - and I missed them - had to travel from Northampton to the other side of Coventry to pick it up - couldn't believe that there wasn't a closer depot. We do something similar - but just allocate a desktop background based on OU - so there is Staff or Student written across it as well.

When it works - its fine - but a you say - support is not great - on the occasions I've needed help - I just keep redialling until I get a Welsh voice - and you know you've been patched through to Tech Support not some call centre - usually they've been most helpful.
