Application licensing is a nightmare - for MS stuff - its a per device license - so you need a license for every device that accesses the software remotely - quite expensive if you have all students and staff expecting to use it, possibly from multiple computers. Afaik your cannot get a "concurrent" license for MS products (Office and the like) - so its all or nothing.

We use Dataspire here (Northampton) and are happy with them. We're secondary though - so not sure how applicable it would be to primary. You're welcome to come and have a look if you fancy an outing.

We've just had some quotes for this - and both recommend at least 4500 lumen projectors - can't comment on the suppliers as the work hasn't been done yet..

I bought one of the modular Corsair jobbies - totally wicked - but not a cheap option - it was one of the few at the time that could support 6 sata feeds and has been stable as a rock in my home server.

I would think your old college/uni could help if you're a graduate, possibly the Exam board concerned for school based exams??

We're a secondary (1300-ish) - and have 40-odd laserjets of various configuration - the toner bill is humungous. Fortunately - that seems to have registered at last, so are going to activiely use PCounter in the future and also looking at bringing in Ricoh printers/multifunction jobs on contract as a replacemernt for all the printers (anybody else done similar? How did it go?)

With current financial excitement - I'm starting to doubt whether there will be any further developments as Govt and sponsor money dries up.

Yeah - you can crunch them down, which is great until you want to see the pictures - they're not a great image to start with.

We have a lot of IP CCTV cameras here - and they do eat up the bandwidth - they sit on a VLAN - but that dosen't reduce the amount of constant traffic that has to flow around. It doesn't seem to affect the network too adversely at the moment, but it surely doesn't help.

Ours is set to CDOSYS and points to our Exchange box - seems OK

EduSweep is great - but as others say - its much better to prevent the games being being run in the first place with a software restriction policy.

Yep - events database it is - though its not easy to read - you'll need a third party bit of software to make it "useful" - like System Change Log which is what we use

WINDOWS + E for explorer

You really need to convert it using Nero Vision and then burn the DVD to be sure of it working nicely in standard DVD players
