I'd say you need 1.5m at the front of a rack - so you can pull out a server on its rails and safely disengage it, without doing yourself a mischief. Whatever you do - don't install them like the monkeys that did our server room - 8 cabs in a 4x2 configuration - back to back with a sheet of plywood bolted at the back of one set to act as a mount for a lot of kit that should've been fixed to the wall - it infuriates me everytime I have to try and do any cabling. Grrr

Yeah - or ASUS do some ultra sff boxes that we use on digital signage. I thought you already had the screen - but if you don't - then maybe a compat TV would do - my Panasonic Viera has got an SD slot for showing photos.

Can't you just bung an old PC on it with the My Pictures Slideshow screen saver running?

In AD - find the Staff Email group - go into Properties, select the Exchange General tab, towards the bottom, you will see "Accept Messages From", you need to select the "Only from" radio button and add the necessary users into the list box below.

Think we might have a second hand one we're looking to get rid of - if you want to make me an offer. We recently went to a managed solution - so have about 30 printers to get rid of. You could also use RichCopy - robocopy's replacement from here It does the same, has a GUI as well as command line and is multi-threaded - so should be quicker

You're right of course - though if the 34 fail because of the constant disruption caused by 5 or 6 naught kids who the school insist must be in your classroom....?? At the risk of sounding like an old fogey - I think there's a bit of a loss of vision on what qualifications are for - they are to sort the sheep from the goats - whether the goats are simply lazy or lack the basic academic nous to pass - I don't see the point of them if everyone passes, as it tells their future employers/educators little about their real ability/attitude. Sometimes I read my posts and wonder if I shouldn't cancel my Guardian order and get the Mail instead

OK - this looks to have been resolved by a firmware upgrade. Axel have been very helpful in chasing this problem down - so creds to you guys. Mostly caused by our Citrix servers being so far behind on their versions of patching - so good work Matt!

Hi - one of our servers has started crashing intermittently during the night. There are no unusual log entries just prior to the restart - just a note about the previous erstart being unexpected. Any ideas what might cause this? Cheers

Hi - does anyone know where to set a particular site to be able to do pop ups through GPOs on 2003 to XP? We're having people in from testingforschools.com and a requirement is to allow pop ups from their site - they are off by default - so I need a way to enable pop ups from their site alone - if anyone knows - I'd appreciate it. Yeah - I've just agreed to do this for my Dad - alas he took 2 1/4 inch slides - and I can't find an automated scanner anywhere for those - so will have to do them on my Epson by hand - even more irritating is that they are mounted in plastic and glass frames - so will probably have to be dismounted before scanning - reckon it will take many evenings next winter....*sigh*

We like the Startech ones - USB/PS2 and you can link them together. They are in Dabs

With respect - that's nonsense - the regulations were put in place to protect people using portable equipment as part of their work - like builders using power drills on site, etc. Static pieces of electrical equipment were never intended to be covered, and while a visual check once in a while is a good idea - full PAT testing annually is overkill (imho), and certainly didn't identify the (several) TFT monitors that have caught fire this year...
