Yeah - my cable needs to run from the back bedroom to the front room - so it goes up trunking and into the attic, through the attic to the front of the house, out through a gap I found and then down through the brackets that hold the drainpipe and in through a vent into the front room. Its just standard CAT5 and has been in place for 3 or 4 years now - I used a coupler in the attic so it would be easy to replace - but not needed to yet - whole lot cost about £8 off eBay.

While I agree with your analysis - there's always an alternate view - see this from yesterday's Guardian The Institute for Fiscal Studies argues that the years between 2011 and 2015 "must" see the largest cuts in public spending since 1976-80 (Parties 'dishonest on cuts', 28 April). That's a line all the major parties are peddling in the runup to the general election, and it's a lie. There's no need for a single penny to be cut. Those who say there is should read the Sunday Times Rich List 2010 (Report, 26 April). It exposes the fact that the combined wealth of the richest 1,000 residents of the UK now stands at £335.5bn – an increase of 29.9% on last year's figure and 239% on 1997. So let's have no more talk from the politicians from all the mainstream parties about the "necessity" of "savage cuts" in public spending. The money for the things that the vast majority of the population need – housing, health, education and jobs – is in the grotesquely inflated pockets of the mega-rich. Time for them to cough up. And let's have no more witless talk about how "we're all in this together".

Personally, I thought that Cameron's performance on the debates was quite "interesting", there was a lot of repetition of soundbite type phrases in quite a petulant manner, but very little discussion of any policies. I know this is borrowed from Blair - but I thought the debate format made it very apparent. Also - the "Big Society" thing is laughable - governments of both persuasions love local democracy until people choose not to agree with central government - then it is stamped out ruthlessly.

With respect - thats a really short sighted attitude - change without funding and planning just leads to chaos & misery for the staff & students of anywhere that is affected

That's about 4 years of calls - but vastly underrates the number of calls, as forgotten passwords and staff left logged on around the building rarely get logged. Printers are indeed the highest number of calls...great...

If you've an oldish PC lying around - why not get a TV tuner card and make yourself up a media center - just done that myself and its great - TV, PVR, music, iPlayer, YouTube etc all on the telly.

Just a small observation - when you're looking at "New Posts" - the page count (top right) displays "Page x of y" and then a small range of the pages available - the "y" figure which should show the total number of pages, only shows the number of the next page up from the top of the small range. eg - if there were 12 pages - the text says Page 1 of 5 and the range shows pages 1-4 as available, then when you're Page 2 it shows Page 2 of 6 (rather than 2 of 12) - hope you understand - very minor point - but thought you'd like to know.

Its always seemed a bit pointless that public se ctor staff pay direct taxes - the govt gives us money and then excessively bureaucratically takes it away again - given the large %age of public sector employees in the workforce - surely it would be a saving to just reduce our wages by about 30-odd % and sack a load of tax collecting staff?

Agree about whips - wouldn't it be a good idea if MPs had a secret ballot arrangement for voting too - just like they made the unions have - that would ginger things up a bit.
