I think you can only say it is for storage - if you say its being "used" on a regular basis - you'll need retrospective confirmation - not always easy to get.

Also - bear in mind that when you sell - you can't claim it as living space unless you've followed all the regs - which are a complete pita - firedoors on every floor, minimum head heights, linked fire alarms etc etc

Thanks - how did it go with the software you had installed - like most schools - we've an absolute ton of disparate software running across many servers - did most of yours need reinstalling or could it cope with the transition of domain name?

On ours - we had to set it twice - once in General/Printing Preferences and again in Advanced/Printer Defaults - we're using the PCL6 drivers

I suspect problems were exacerbated with the disconnection between shareholders and management. When shareholders actually viewed themselves as the "owners" of a firm, they kept a close eye on whether management were taking "liberties" with company funds. When shares became just a trading chip, there was no one in the structure to say a firm "No" and firms started to be run for the sole benefit of upper management - not a viable long term situation imho

We've got one of those - the lectern is fine - its just teachers using the kit on it that is the problem! Alas we didn't have wifi - so there are cables for the power/network/projector and no one can think far enough ahead to see that pushing the lectern out of the way before you disconnect is probably a bad idea...

Hi - as part of the "transition" to being an academy - we are tasked with changing the internal domain of our system to reflect the new name of the school (ie from oldschool.local to newshinyacademy.local) We are 2003, Exchange 2003, XP clients with Citrix thrown in for good measure. Have any of you done this in the past? If so - how painful was it? I imagine getting the name changed is tricky - but its all the software that runs on top that worries me. Any good news or gotchas gratefully received

I don't mind that - people are responsible for their own spending - I mind that I am having to pay (both in cash and in the quality of service I receive) to bail out the people who did overspend (and that includes you - bankers!)

I don't think you can say that until the "review process" has run its course and we see really see the practical effects of the cuts (not least to our pensions and working conditions) on all the services that we have become used to.

You need System Change Log from Greyware - its a great little prog - usee it here for similar stuff

I run SequoiaView on them and look for big log files that I don't need to keep.

I'd agree with public folders. I didn't use them to start with (in 2004) because they were going to be "got rid of" - but they are still around - and it makes managing them a whole lot easier - specially if you're going to use OWA in any way.

Hi - have found that non-admin users with mandatory profiles were having problems. After a lot of messing - it looks like you need to update to the latest flash to resolve this (I guess its connected to the vulnerabilities that were discussed recently?)

Would you like to expand on that? We're an existing school and not a new build - so will be transferring over on existing kit - so domain renames, email changes, existing software complaining about the first two I imagine - all on a very tight schedule in the summer - hmmm

That's nice - but the Guardian is run by trust which subsidises its massive losses from more popular titles and other income streams. I like the Guardian and read it everyday (in paper form) and want it to continue - so it needs to be paid for somewhere down the line...
