What was the matter with deposit back bottles - very green, low resource cost and with the added incentive that kids will go and round up all the empties for the money

We're in the very fortunate position of having a big chunk of money to spend on ICT stuff - just snuck in under the bar before all the financial taps were turned off! Obviously I've got a big wishlist (new network kit, new servers for virtualisation, decent wi-fi, etc etc etc), just wondered what other people would put on the list, to see if I've left anything important off. Look forward to reading your suggestions.

Yes - finally...I think so... The last bit that I got stuck on was the permissions for users in Protected groups (ie Print Operators - which the teachers were) - I did all the changes that I could find in the documentation - the Send As permission was showing as enabled - it it still wouldn't send. In the end I had to apply the permission at group level and allow inherit - no idea why - as the effective permissions at the user level were exactly the same. More galling was the fact that SLT already had smart phones that connected to the school email - but the new head just went and bought blackberries off his own bat coz he likes them...

Best of luck - setting it up was a complete pita - I wasted about 8 full days trying to get all the permissions tickety-boo - grrrr

Good luck with that - its not hard - just a bit messy - here's good page Plumbing FAQ if you haven't seen it. Not sure how you're going to do it without draining the system, unless you have in line valves fitted. Do have a stab at rebalancing the radiators - its well worth the effort - plenty of pages if you google.

I used to smoke quite a lot - but don't bother for it now - can even have a cig if I fancy and not bother again for months & months....Chocolate though...thats a different story....

Yes - I'm getting fed up with it too... I've installed OK - but now half the Blackberries can send & receive email - but half can only receive??? I'm guessing its permissions somewhere - I've read a ton of support documents - anyone seen this behaviour and can point me in the right direction?? Cheers

Broc - I wondered about those chips - recently replaced my passport and was really surprised that the chip was mounted on a normal page where it can be flexed and bent, rather on a more rigid cardboard cover. I'm with witch - I really can't see the point (from an individual's point of view, rather than an authoritarian govt pov) - unless each card is stamped "Potential Terrorist" or "Criminal" - what use are they to reducing crime or terrorism?? Even if the police had the power (and lot of them think they do) to stop and demand ID - how does that stop any illegal act? The police in Spain have those powers and people have to carry ID _ but it doesn't stop any of the bombings there.

Check whether they can reply to an email of yours, that contains only plain text. Does your ISP do email filtering for you? You can check their logs - ours tends to reject any attachments that can't be opened for scanning - so that might be an issue...

Before I dive into the pool of pain that is EMBC or ParentPay support - has anyone else had a problem getting the latest version of MIS:Sync to connect to the internet? I've put in the proxy settings & the password stuff - but it immediately comes back and says it can't get a connection (a little too quickly for my liking!). Any suggestions?
