The Academy I work for is about to embark on sourcing a Wireless Solution. I'd be very grateful for your valued opinions and ideas for the best wireless option. We currently have no wireless coverage, what so ever in our building, and is very much a blank canvas. Ideally I'm looking for a centralised managed solution, with good security options. Thanks for taking the time to answer this post.

Having spent the best part of the day surfing the net looking for a solution to set Google as the Default Search Provider on IE8 via group policy, I'm ready to throw in the towel. I have tried everything even the microsoft KB How to create custom .adm or .admx files to add search providers to the toolbar search box in Internet Explorer 7 For the sake of my sanity has anyone got this working, if so how....I'm now starting to rock gently while dribbling as my invisible brother whispers in my ear! Cheers

We subscribe to Technet, and its a good resource, you have access to every microsoft product, and thier technical forum, this is great for research and development. You also get two free technical support calls, so far we've not needed to use them but its nice to know theres a little safety net! Well worth the money I say

Thanks for the quick reply guys, no we don't use ISA but it is part of my plan in the future! I've looked at AAM and I'm assuming you goto edit public url, I've placed an entry eg H-SPHERE in the extranet field but when I try to save it, the option is greyed out. I've seen a drop down for AAM collections, which gives me 3 options : 1 central administration 2. that is used for my sites 3. sharepoint - 80 I've selected the 3rd option and this made the save option available. I've saved this, and then tested but get nothing. Sure I'm missing the obvious here! Thanks in advance for the screenies looking forward to that.

We have been running Moss 2007 for about a year successfully internally for Staff and Students, we now want to enable users to access this externally over the internet. How do you do this, I can't find any step by step guides, does anyone know of any good walk throughs. I think it's to do with Alternate Access Mappings. Thanks in advance, for viewing this thread and grateful for any help / assistance

Hi Michael, I thought as much. I just wanted to confirm my original gut feeling, and at least know that I attempted to find an easy and cost effective resolution. ICT Strategy here I come!

I've several projectors around the school that have the ability to freeze the screen and display an image on the smartboards to the students, lesson objectives etc. This allows the teacher to view confidential emails, registers etc on their PC screens without interrupting the flow of the lesson. I've also got a load of older projectors without this functionality, and several teachers requesting this ability. I know I could add additional graphic cards, and extend the desktop etc, but a lot of the pc’s we have are either too old 4-5 years plus (and I don’t want to purchase legacy cards), or don't have the room to accommodate the additional card. My question is this, is there any 3rd party software (this i doubt) or hardware that could produce the desired results. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and also responding.

Hide Staff emails from students with exchange 2003

How do you filter emails that sounds good, the only problem is that Students will just say that someone else logged on as them. I'm all for punishnment, by retracting pc privilages, but how can you protect the innocent. -

yes the emails have the same format. And yes your quite correct some of our brighter pupils would guess, but try explaining this to the leadership team.
