We just use pin codes, we wanted cards but by the time we were allowed the extra finances to purchace the addon pack the delicate little teachers had got used to there codes. (if it ain't broke don't fix it)

if you have copiers with integrated applications from papercut the staff can release there own job, or it can be controlled from the above "print release station" by your reprographics technician (If you have one!!)

We use Papercut MF here an it locks down all our printers an copiers.. Has greatly reduced paper use, all docs sit in a queue till the user releases them, if the docs sit there for mor than 24 hrs the automatically get canceled.. (Bit difficult to integrate with canon photocopiers, canon no help at all)

I don't have one to recommend but i have one to stay away from (IMO) we had one of the "LapCabby" range.. an i know another local school had 3, the wheels fell off several times... the engineer blamed our floor for not being flat enough.... another said the laptops were to heavy?? even though we had less laptops in it than the amount the unit is meant to carry?? This is a recommendation not meant to offend anyone.

I used to be a Dell service engineer.. Nvidia Chipped D630's were always fail due to overheating... it's a high likelyhood the chip is damaged...If you have tried drivers an the basics that is (try external monitor to rule out LCD) if it's under warranty it may be a good idea to get it replaced..

flippin expensive... not for schools budgets.. we had a quote can't remember exactly how much. We had a quote from pcounter and safecom aswell, after opting for safecom it was installed then costs escalated as the system is modular (same as uniflow) so the contrat was terminated an the product uninstalled.. In the end we went for Papercut, does everything we require is is cheap to implement.. aslong as your copiers are compatible with the embedded software.. we have canon copiers which meant we had to purchase external copy tracking device (£500 each x 3) but it still work out cheaper than both uniflow an safecom.. http://www.itsltduk.co.uk/ The guys above deal with papercut they are very good.. they never gave up on on of our copiers that refused to print..

contact Steljes We spoke to a guy called Alex (08450 724 999) He arranged for our 4 faulty board to be replaced with refurbished ones... (they actually turned out to be brand new ones) £150 for the first board an was £130 (i think for the ones there after) cheaper than buying new ones..

Blackberry Enterprise Server initial set-up
adampat84 replied to JoeBloggs's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
get BES Express its free for upto 30 CALs.. so 29 phones plus 1 for BES (I think) BlackBerry - Enterprise Server Express - BlackBerry BES Express The only other thing is to make sure that the phones are provisioned correctly blackberry have to modes for their phones one is "enterprise" an the other is "prosumer".. if they aren't provisioned correctly they will never connect to server express.. ("Enterprise" for connections to BES) Having helped with setting up 11 phones on BES express for our school its a bit fiddly to get going but once youve got the hang of it it's faily simple. Gook Luck
