  1. Hi - I think they were search.asp and reports.asp - if you search for "year" you'll see a couple of "For" statements - just increase the 2010 to 2020 (or whatever) - nasty coding - but it'll see me out!
  2. Weren't some of the Need For Speeds split screen?
  3. We've got this on our Optiplexs and were quoted £6 a piece for replacements (hah!) - the DT tech cout us some MDF and we glue gunned them in - but the little &^%&^%s still break them out and try and nick the RAM...
  4. We've got one of these Cable Tester - NETcat Pro which is a nice compromise between the cheapo £10 testers and the big pro models. I bought the add on kit to - with 8 extra "ends" so you can test 8 points in a room straight off without messing about.
  5. I especially liked 4-6 years old - you can talk to them and have real fun without the self consciousness that comes a bit later - and they just love you to bits
  6. Same here - we change the passwords to the generic supply accounts on a fortnightly basis and inform the Cover Supervisor, who dishes them out to the supply teachers, as I find the supply teachers are not very careful on the security front.
  7. I don't think that using VLANs for "security" purposes really works in a school environment - or at least in ours In an office situation, there are clear divisions between accounts/HR/sales etc, but most staff herewant to sit down at a screen and get on with whatever work is necessary, be it curricular or more administrative - so that's what we provide. There are some risks in that - but I think the major risks are more human - sharing passwords, not logging off etc.
  8. Have a search - there are lots of threads about vandalism on here. Really to make a change - you need the Head and preferably the SLT on side and recharge the departments for damage that happens - it seems to focus their minds then.
  9. Just to let any Liberum users know - the search facility in Liberum appears to be hardcoded only up til 2010 - so you need to go and edit the asp code to get searches into 2011 and beyond - looks like its just in 2 places... Well - I suppose it was free - unlike the ViewCommander CCTV product which seems to be suffering in the same way...
  10. Wouldn't it be easier to stuff a PC full of RAM and install ESXi on it, copy the vm's over - and run them all from that?
  11. We use Startech - always found them very reliable.
  12. If you get the call - ask to think it over and go to your head and say that you'd like to stay - but have been offered a job and need a pay rise - if they agree - get it in writing!!
  13. Dunno - mine's a couple of years old now - but I run a W7 media box under it for streaming and access to iPlayer (TunerFreeTV). I believe some of the newer Panasonics have all the new gubbins. At Xmas - was at my folks - my Dad has a Samsung that he's not happy with and I took some copies of various settings up to try and improve the picture - what a 'mare - there are so many places to change things that I reckon its impossible to set a decent picture without a full blown hardware solution!
  14. I enjoyed a couple of things on the local news recently - a bloke put up some posters about his missing cat and got a letter threatening a £1000 fine unless they were all taken down and the bloke out playing snowballs with his little kids who threw one at a passing policeman - a stupid thing to do - but I would have thought a stern telling off would have sufficed - but no - 2 days lateer they came round to his house, handcuffed him and took him away and did him for assault - a tad OTT imho
  15. This is one of the reasons that I like CMIS - its so easy to do the updates.
  16. I think one of the documentaries mentioned above shows people digging up the gardens & parks and turning back to growing their own food - ahead of the curve for the post-industrial age, I reckon.
  17. Anybody else see this article in the Observer today - about the abandonment of Detroit? Staggering...Latest news, comment and reviews from the Guardian | guardian.co.uk
  18. Just have a look at moneysupermarket.com and have a look
  19. Personally I've found that the Panasonics have got the best picture. They always get Best Buys in Which.
  20. Hi Mike I'd be interested in seeing those scripts if you are willing to share - cheers
  21. We force IE to open at an Information Page at logon - which the Admin staff (are supposed to) keep up to date with the latest news & instructions
  22. Ditto that - I really enjoyed it - though the last ep leaves a lot "up in the air" - I was hoping for resolution. Enjoyed The Shield and Justified too
  23. We don't have your switches - but we find Wake-on-LAN [ MATCODE.com ] is successful over VLANs - as you can tell it the other VLANs broadcast address
