Nah - I've just had them quote for i3, 4GB RAM and 19" hard glass monitor - came to just over £500 - not too bad - still waiting for the eval so I can assure myself of the build quality. I liked the look of the Very PCs - but they did seem to be quite expensive and low powered - am I out of date with the info?

I've been looking at these Secure In One - Secure In One - they look very tidy, hoping for an eval model in a couple of days

I've done it a few times over the last 20-odd years Rugby to Sheffield to Hull to Cleethorpes to Northampton Its OK but can be a wrench if you're used to having your bunch of mates or family around you.

Just wondered if anyone had any of these Secure In One PCs - they look quite nice on the website robust with a small footprint Secure In One - Secure In One - I'm awaiting an eval unit to see if they are as tidy & well built as the sales the speil.

When our builder snapped our fibre on the jaws of a dozer (boy is it stretchy - and it really goes TWANG after it snaps) - they were liable to get it all going again - though some mention of a timescale might be helpful, if you've important stuff on the other end. The kids also dug up one of the other runs and cut it with some tin snips - that cost in the region of £1500 to have respliced (afair)

For the staff in my department I have an Excel year planner spreadsheet - but the school is on paper and frankly doesn't have a "dolly blue" about who's taken what.

I'm still way below what I was earning 10 years ago in the "real world" - however, I do get to go home before 5.00pm and don't spend up to 6 hours a day driving around the country before even starting work...

I dunno about that, our previous head was on £125k and I guess the present is on that or more - not bad for 150 staff

Can't tell you how glad I am to be out of this - the one benefit of getting old - a paid off mortgage! If you can - do try and overpay - it saves an absolute fortune in the long term and remember - its unlikely that rates will be this low for the whole length of your term - I was paying 17% in the early 90s and that doesnarf make you squeak - lentil soup or beans on toast for tea everyday and no holidays or treats...

Buffer underrun *shudder* - I remember the stopping all processes except for the burn and sitting cross fingered for 30 minutes waiting to see if it worked. The disks were so expensive we had a syndicate in the office so we could get a better price by buying in bulk...

Like Hightower - we have moved from Sedao to Xibo (via MagicInfo ugh) - Xibo is a much neater solution to manage. We display most things via a webpage - which makes it easy for the admin staff to update.
